If all they were doing is going to the bathroom I could forgive them. I'm of the opinion most AFKers are not there for other reasons than going to the bathroom.
I only see 1-2 AFKers at a time. But they usually are back with a few minutes

I guess I see at lot more AFK'er than you then.
AFK'ers and people hiding in corners are worse than tomatoes.

At least most tomatoes spot something just before dying horribad...and gives you tactical information.

If they're like a scout thats camping in the corner, I can't forgive them.

But if its an arty, then its okay.

I'm still in the lower tiers, maybe thats why?

scouts are hard to drive, hard to do well in, and are weak in terms of hp and armor. You can get into trouble VERY easily in a scout, and most people don't know how to get out of trouble when they're in a light. When you couple that with a game where the average player is a 48% player that barely knows what map he's on, you'll get a lot of "camping" scouts that are camping in all the wrong places or are just plain ignorant of their role in a scout. My T71 and T-50-2 have some of the highest exp games out of my whole lineup, and I can safely say if I'm on a scout friendly map in my scout, I'll probably carry the team just through spotting stuff.

yea when i use my wz-132 i race to a mid chokepoint and camp until it's no longer safe to do so, i get a lot of xp scouting. i run binocs/optics/net with the 85mm gun.
i constantly move since i can get 1shot by jgpze100's 183s, and e4/e3/268/155's if they get a high roll. i miss scouting in the t50-2

They can also be the most fun tanks to drive ^^

smoke canisters, AFAIK, never worked well enough in WW2 for them to incorporate into standard design. Think about it: it just doesn't make sense. You can hear the tank from a mile away. smoke is good concealment for infantry, not a 60 ton piece of metal that whirrs and clanks its way through streets.

Gaming wise, they'd have to make the smoke so thick that it looks like a sandstorm, AND somehow disable the red outline that you get when you mouse over something in a smoke cloud. Neither are great ideas.

Google some more...you are wrong about smoke and WWII...hell smoke where even used on tanks in WWI...

Wargaming even has it in their historical videos of the Tiger:

Got any links or reading material? The books I've read cite faulty (and terrible) implementations of the smoke canister launchers on the panther and tiger series, and the smoke not working very well (in concealment of tanks).

Traditional smoke screens (deployed by jeeps or infantry in ww2) have been used since the ancient times and is not the topic of discussion here.

I'd be against smoke. There is enough to deal with as it is in this game as it is and now you want to add something to make it more difficult? Hell No! If you think I'm silly just remember that in the past it was suggested and there was a outcry about it by the WoT gaming community. It may sound all cool and all but its not supported by the community for the same reason I stated. The Devs were against it too but not sure if it was because of the population outcry or some type of implementation problem. Probably both.

Most players are whiney bitches that don't know flanking from drowning...who cares what tomatoes think?

I know SOME tanks have smoke launchers on them, but I was thinking more like what they do for aerobatic planes by injecting diesel or other fluids like mineral oil directly into the hot exhaust. it'd be effective if something like a T2 Light just makes a couple passes around the advancing column billowing huge clouds of smoke. In my scenario it would decrease spotting range by close to 50% and add a -50% "to hit" modifier for arty.

I'm not saying its not a cool idea and all but for this game there are enough things going on that make the playing hard enough as is. One of the things I have seen over the years since games started going online is that Devs start adding more and more stuff due to original ideas or fan base demands that games get too complicated and get bogged down. Balance gets way out of whack. Then the player starts getting more frustrated with it. I'd really really hate to see that happen in WoT. Maybe I like simplicity too much but I have seen too many games go bad by adding too much.

P.S. I don't want anyone to think I'm attacking their ideas. I'm just expressing my opinion and hopefully not offending anyone in the process. I may have come across too strong in my last post.

If they're going to use things like bushes as camo, it'd be nice for them to let us build bush camo where we want.
