Yep and keep in mind that the premium TDs are not to be affected in the upcoming TD/Visibility nerf in next patch.


I been playing in my Soviet Tier 2 T26 last couple sessions. Just love this tank in the Tier 2 battles. I got mine set up for stealth. Crew 100% camo trained and a camo net and binocs on my tank. I see the enemy long before he sees me. Soon as my crew gets their second line of skills done I'm going to get Sixth Sense. I miss having it. I transferred my old crew out some time back so I'm working on the new crew. Today I looked at the service record and at over 260 battles I'm rocking a 62% victory rate. Not too shabby.

I think this is my main prob. I havent really trained many of my crews past 75% due to not having enough coin for it.

How can I train them in different things?

finished the T57 grind over the weekend, started with ~140k sat afternoon as i had to work both sat and sun but still managed to grind 110k hahaha

so burnt out

i can't buy it yet since i don't have the credits

Whelp, I am now semi-retired from this game. I might play here and there, I might come back after a few months. But now that I have tried war thunder tanks again, as well as BF3... (my first computer FPS since UT99), I am done with the BS that is WoT.

The camel that broke the straw's back... 3 waffle on 3 waffle game in komarin. Ended in a draw, shocking. I have never been so pissed at complete lack of map design and the combination of shit spotting mechanics (my optics enhanced wz120 could not spot a waffle SHOOTING me who was also the one SPOTTING me).

Crews perform much better when you get them to 100%. The low tier tank crews never really spend enough time in their tanks to get 100%. Unless you leave them there. Anyway here is how it works. Normally you get a crew that starts at 50% when buying a new tank with crew. Now, you have two choices. Grind the crew up via battles. Over time they will reach 100% in Training. You can get them to 80% at start by using credits to pay up their training. 20k creds per crew man I think it is to get 80%. If you have gold you can pay them up to 100% training if you want. This will cost as much as 200 gold per tank crew man. I think at some lower tiers its 100 gold per man. Now this is just crew training for the tank itself. There is a second type of training.

Once each of your tank crew men reach 100% in training a second set of training can begin. These are what are known as skills or perks. These skill/perks also go up to 100%. Some skills/perks will start giving you benefit as you level up others wont kick in until that skill/perk reaches 100%. For example repair skill starts giving you a benefit right away allowing your tank to repair faster as it gets closer to 100%. Six Sense for example isnt given to you until you get it fully to 100%. Once your crewman is fully (100%) trained in Repairs, for example, then you can begin a second skill/perk line for him. You can keep doing this for every tanker you have. You can have all eight skill/perks eventually. This does take quite a bit of time however. Each new skill/perk line takes longer to train up than the previous line. Typically once you progress a crew up a tank line you should have at least two or three skill/perks per crew man at Tier ten.

This is the basics. I hope I didnt leave anything out. I'm sure someone will correct me if I did. If you need more detailed info just ask. Everyone here is pretty helpful when it comes to questions. You should also read the Official WoT Forums. Lots of great info and tips there.

Oh, and you may be wondering how people in low tier tanks have so many skill/perks? They been playing that tank for a long while. Training the crew as they go adding new lines as each is maxed out at 100%. One thing to keep in mind is even at Tier 2 about half the players are experienced players with many tanks in their garage and full knowledge of how the game works. Other half is the newbs trying to figure the game out.

No it will just become abuse of the vision mechanics under some other tank. The mechanics is begging for a broken combo. This game has been about vision control for as long as I played it. It is boring as fuck to snipe or passive scout, but their shitty map design coupled with high alpha arty has dictated that this is how you play the game.

Screw it, I am done.

yea a waffle with 100% camo, camo paint, binocs and recon is pretty bs
but i don't really care for waffles, it's all about the 183 to me
i have yet to 1shot a full health wtf yet, as they have always taken at least 1 shot by the time i come across them to kill

You don't train them to 100% with cash. You train them like you did to 75% (or transfer them from a previous tier tank). Then you play a bunch of battles in that tank and they get up to 100% experience in the tank itself and then you start by picking a skill to learn and then play another ton of battles until it is 100%, rinse and repeat.

For crews to have 2+ skills, you have probably put over 1000 battles with that crew in a single tank (1200-1500 if you transferred them between tanks due to the needing to learn the new tank to 100% first before the crew skill training happens as well as the need to research the new tank's equipment).

I think I have 5 groups of crew that have 2 skills and working on the 3rd. One is in my S-51 arty, one in my KV-1, one in my IS-3, one in my Type-59, and one in my Jadgtiger. It just takes a LOT of battles.

Nowhere near that many battles needed for 2+ skilled crew. You can retrain to 90% on the same class vehicle for silver, and to get from 90% back to 100% is a paltry amount of games, not 200-500. Further, my most trained crew is my KV-2 crew that has about ~2k battles in it. This crew is sitting at 96% on their 4th skill. I have multiple crews in their 4th skill with about 1k battles (59, 183, E100).

I like the way War Thunder handles arty. It is an ability given to light/medium tanks. They can designate a target area. Once they do, a couple of ranging shots come in and the tanks in the area know that arty is inbound. This allows them to move before getting hit.

well, the way arty is handled in WOT is stupid. Wargaming gives 0 fucks about player feedback on ways on how arty could be fixed. No matter how many times they nerf it, the way arty is designed is still just an orbital deathray that encourages camping because of the scary 1-shot ability.

Them T8 arty are nasty mofos that's for sure. I been saying for years if WG would just set a low number of arty per battle to no more than two on each side I'd be happy. WG simply refuses though. T8 and up battles often have 3-5 arty per side. Its just ridiculous.

Just swapped in a i7 chip, any settings or tweaks i should do to get the most out of it with this game? I know affinity adjustments help sometimes on the 4 core but its hard to say which thread is the real core and which is ht.

Ha, yeah I remember those days too. I remember when the little Leo was the king of arty hunting too. Game has changed a lot since the days of just having two nations (Soviet & German) to play with. LOL

i started in beta, maybe alpha had 2 nations?

It was german and soviets. USA was added later with no heavies, then the heavy branch came out during beta. The TDs were added way later.

My best match so far. Went down to me and another FV who had capped. Hit him once then we both missed. 3rd shot wild west style gunned him down 10 meters away. Should have had the KV1S as well. But 8 kills is pretty good.

So I was watching Jingles video about patch 9.1. Supposedly the patch is more about fixing things that patch 9.0 screwed up than anything else. Some new content but the majority about fixes. We'll see how that goes once the patch gets released. I hope this is something WG will do more of. I like new content as much as anyone else but I want WG to focus more on fixing things that need it and there is a long list of things that has long needed fixing. For now I say we have enough tanks so lets get to balancing and fixing things shall we WG?
