I've bagged 2-3 matches as Artillery when I was the last player. But, that's like .68% of all my matches as artillery, heh. Smart players never get in front of an arty when it's within VFR.

I'm more of a fast/agile MT player, so the Jumbo isn't my thing.

A shame really, either way you will be on your way to the T20 why not see what it feels like to play a medium tank that bounces 90% of frontal shots and has a 76mm m1a2 to boot.

T54E1 is an amazingly awesome tank... once you get it fully upgraded. It really needs the top gun to come into its own.

Even with the top engine it is still a pretty sluggish medium, but it helps. But really the top gun makes this tank awesome. My average WN8 in the tank is 3k, and my average XP is over 1k (I only have 5 tanks that average over 1k XP).

Been enjoying, already had the engine from M103 and the radio from the RU251... wait.. what? The RU251 and T54E1 share the same radio? At least according to Tank Compare and WOTDB, either way, already available.

One minor "complaint", long reload of 37s, with my current crew 85% or so but I don't think a 100% will make it any faster.

I do love the punch of the gun, 390 damage per shot. It was nice to clip a Ferdinand with one shot just missing, 3 of 4 hit.

So I've decided to start grinding towards the T110E5, in part because I also want the T29.

Any recommendations on M4/M4AE2 path vs. T1 Heavy/M6 path? I'm thinking M4 path as that will also allow me to go for the patton at a later point if I want, but I heard the M6 was good fun.

What equipment did you have on the T54E1?

Right now I have V-Stab +20% accuracy on move, Gun Laying Drive +10%, and for now Vents but that'll get switched to Optics.

The reason for the former 2 was the T69 had a LONG aiming time and became lovable with those two equipment on it.

Since you already got experience in the game and hull down.

If you go M6, it's like KV-1 but +1 tier up. Hull down and top tier it does extremely well, I actually like the T1 Heavy and M6. If I got 57% and 58% wins rates in them, you can do better than I will.

If the M4A3E2, it has good armor, another tank I enjoyed. Stick with stock turret and M1A1 gun. You can't use the M1A2 gun on stock turret. Second turret loses 74mm of armor!

Hard to say, I think both were good but if you prefer mediums style tanks, M4A3E2 is the way to go.

Ok thanks. That is weird the top turret loses so much armor on the E2.

As for the T54E1, I use Vert Stabs, Gun Laying Drive, and Optics. I like Optics because view range and seeing your opponent first is a huge advantage. Vert Stabs because it is the single biggest advantage to aiming you can get (it's an auto buy on anything that can get it). Gun Laying drive because the aim time is a little high on the T54E1, particularly for a Medium.

i'm gonna go with keep what he has already. on autoloaders i always use vents for the reduced reload + all around % increase in gun handling.
as an autoloader you're not going to be spotting for yourself whether it's in clan wars or pubs. you need to play 2nd tier, suprise someone and clip out.

how often are you the last player in a pub match, where you will need to spot someone first? and since you're in an auto, you can take that hit, get them spotted, then clip out.

vert stab/gld/vents is what i ran/run from the t69/t54e1/t57 heavy.

all personal preference of course

TBH I feel like vents are a complete waste on any tank. The real world figures (math has been done countless times) is only an increase of a little more than 2% across the board. Hardly useful when you can put something like say a repair box or optics on.

Nah, its still a better choice over the autoloader, why would i take an autoloader that needs 36 seconds to reload? In that time that I am reloading I can pop off 7 shots with the non autoloader.
I kind of like the autoloader. In my first game with it in a town map, I did over 3300 damages, unleashing a whole clip mostly on the side of a t32 and another clip on the rear of a capping kv5, though my team lost. I have a feeling it's going to be really hard to get master badge on the bulldog.

Yeah, it definitely is going to be hard, I did close to 4000 damage in it today and still didn't get a mastery.

This game genuinely cracks me up sometimes. I was derping North on the Eastern side of El Halluf not long after the match started.

I keep my turret pointed in the direction of the other metallic things as just kind of a standard order of business type of thing. I was in my M4 with credit rounds loaded. It's a slow way of losing money, but often times the first shot counts on long maps like El H.

The very first spot alert sound hit...and it was an arty (lmao), not half a second later he outlined on my cursor through dumb luck...and BANG! First spot, first kill, and an arty at that, went to me. Things went downhill for them very quickly...I mean...an SPG doing primary spotting is just wrong. I think that was the match where one of our guys had 9 kills and his HP was still green.

It amazes me how people continually trivialize 2% across the board for 10% that may or may not be needed. Going up a hill, 2% faster thanks to vents. Need to aim? 2% faster. Reload, 2% faster. Turning... 2% faster. Regardless of what task your tank is doing, it is 2% better at it. Same goes for BiA and rations/cola/coffee/etc.

Unless I am relegating my tank to maximize some stat (viewrange/camo) then I would much rather be better at everything for a generic role.

Just remember, in a mirror matchup, the tank with rammer and vents *will* be faster on the reload than the tank with optics and rammer. And let me tell you, when you are dueling your mirror, that makes *all* the difference.

Well, I finally got the T-28 HTC. As expected, LT-15 was the worst end mission out of all of them. I was able to do dmg/bounce the 10k for HT-15 in my IS-7 once, but the team lost so I didn't get it with honors. It took me about a week and a half of grinding to get both the HT-15 and LT-15 missions and I'm a fair player (1900-2000 Win8 and a 60-day 56% win rate).

The T28 HTC is surprisingly more fun than I thought it would be. As you may expect, it's fairly slow. But it's not T95 slow. And it actually has good frontal armor. So as long as you're up against an equivalent or lower tier opponent, you have a pretty good chance of bouncing a lot of shots. The thing is starting to grow on me. Maybe in part because it looks so darn weird!

So, I've started on the T-55a missions now. Set two vehicles (or the same vehicle twice) on fire in the same match? Really WG? I hate the RNG based missions like these. There's just too much of a luck element involved.

I have an account with 16k battles just sitting idle since a few patches ago. 30 some odd tanks and it's against WarGaming TOS to sell. If anybody hs a friend wanting to start but not interested in grinding all the time I will give it away. Stats are meh but there's some nice Premium tanks on there like a Su 122-44 and Type 59. If interested, shoot me a PM.

hmm you can convert free xp to crew xp this weekend.

Let me know when we can convert xp earned on premium tanks to free xp

I got 220k saved up.Some grinds have been so horrible i have been tempted to spend a bit of gold to convert but that gets to expensive.Spent a bit already but some grinds are just to miserable.

well you're still paying to convert free xp to crew xp, no way around that.

xp earned on premiums have always gone into the free xp for gold bucket unless you have crew training on

i just spend the gold to convert, i figure what's 10-20 bucks to save me a months worth of grinding time?

I think this is a massive step backwards in P2W. Gold ammo became available for credits, along with premium consumables. The fact that a 44% useless pile of shit can accumulate ex on a lowe and then convert that to crew exp for a 5 skill crew on a tier 10 is horrible.

It doesn't seem worth it to use free xp for the crew. It's 5 crew xp for one crew member for 1 free xp. Training takes a lot of xp.

Anybody noticed anything weird in the barracks? Possible bugs?

When I login this morning, I noticed my barrack is full, which it should not. When I checked the barrack, I got a whole team of Foch 155 crews at 100% with about 65% at primary skill. For the French TD line I am grinding in tier 6 right now, there is no way I can train Foch 155 crews. I also have a team of T110E5 crews at 100% with a primary skill also. I have the T110E5 but my crews already in the tank with 3 skills. What is going on?
