The Isokaze is a decent ship for it's tier. I did very well in it when I had it. I hate the nerf they did to the tier V Japanese DD (forget it's name). It seemed like it was a relatively quiet nerf slipped in on the torpedo range. When I logged in the first time after the change I couldn't figure out why I couldn't hit anything, and it was because they cut 3k from the range of the torps! Glad I had the next one already researched (was just waiting for enough free XP for getting the torp upgrade on it), so I am now in the tier 6.

The Minikaze was seriously OP with ubertorps. The Mutsuki was a downgrade.

Now perhaps there's some common sense in the Tier 5 being weaker than the Tier 6.

Yeah, I would definitely agree that the Tier 6 Mutsuki would have otherwise been a downgrade from the Tier 5 Minikaze before the nerf. Having 3x2 torp tubes is a lot better than 2x3 torp tubes, and given they were the same range, and roughly the same speed (I think the Mutsuki's torps were 2km/h faster, but that isn't enough to really change their use since they both are still slow torps). Add to it the longer reload time, it was definitely a downgrade.

Meh Wargaming disgust me yet again...

The Royal Navy will be the third line to come in!!!

Okay, we're putting the USSR in but the Royal Navy will be fourth!!

Right guys, we're adding these German ships and probably the German navy then the USSR... but the RN is coming in fifth!

Absolute nonsense to disregard one of the largest and most feared navies in the 20th century naval conflict era and one of the most popular worldwide. Their decision doesn't make financial sense or common sense.

isn't the dev Russian....?

Belorussian, technically, but yeah. I personally can't believe people get that up in arms over which country is added in what order. LOOOOL. People...

And I just read this:
During a Famitsu interview with global director Ivan Moroz, it was revealed that as of the open beta test, approximately 85% of the core game development is complete, and that there are future plans to introduce weather effects and night battle after the game's official release.[11]
Night battle! I don't believe I've heard of that before. Sounds cool though!

Wargaming's business model will never work. No one would ever pay $70 just for a ship.

Have you seen the Starcitizen thread?

That game BARELY functions, and yet people are somehow throwing down hundreds of dollars on ships they know almost nothing about except that the renders look cool.

No, I have not been to that thread ... But it amazes me what people will spend their (hard earned?) money on. I shouldn't judge as others may find some of my own personal purchases questionable.

But I have got to ask ... $70 for a ship ... As part of a free game?

It's a ship you can't get for free. It earns extra credits, to help buy those free ships and modules for them. There might also be other reasons, extra XP to a Captain or Free XP.

I've spent money on World of Tanks, premium time and premium tanks, it's a hobby to me. Like many other hobbies are to others. I've wasted money on physical items that I've barely used before. If you use it, it's worth it. If not, it's a waste of money.

Now this ship does cost more than a tank by $20 or so but there was a $100 tank too...

Now days, probably no different than buying a digital game, it can go away at anytime when they feel like closing the game down.

I am in no way trying to attack or passing judgement on anyone's purchasing choices. Remember when the latest and greates PC game would cost $50 or more? ... and people complained that games were getting too expensive? Now we are talking about spending $70 on a digital representation of a single ship within a game.

Do you not see the irony?

God I got wrecked last night. Played four games I think, and lost horribly in every one. The lag was atrocious too, though I'm guessing that was due to a lot of new players, cause I don't think I've ever seen it that bad before.

It's only ironic if the same people who complained about game costs are the ones buying the ship.

Sir, you seemed to have missed the irony of my post. Please try reading it again ...

Nope, I see everyone commenting on how it is too expensive, one guy saying people are nuts for buying it. I see nothing different in your post. People (including me) are willing to spend money on that ship. People, are willing to spend money on LOTS of things that others are not. People may think of it as wasteful or stupid purchases. And yet, those same people probably make purchases that still others question.

In general:
Who the fuck cares what people buy or don't buy with their own money?

Nobody is forcing you to spend a dime on this or any wargaming title. They are not P2W. You can *easily* get up to tier 8 ships/tanks without spending money and if you keep progressing, you will probably have to play some lower tiers to generate credits to support the high tier purchases. Hell in tanks, they run so many contests and bonuses you can win premiums for little effort. They run tournaments where you can win endless gold if you are good enough.

Whatever, I am done with this topic. I will talk ships, but not wargaming's economies.
