We've all been there...

I had a game recently that was won... it was in the bag... it would take some epic stupidity to screw it up. There was a single enemy carrier left and about 3 mins of time left. What happens? The phoenix that had almost capped leaves the cap circle for no reason, theres not enough time to cap again, he gets torped by the lone carrier on the enemy team. Okay fine, Our carrier just needs to kill their carrier. So our carrier goes in with torps and completely MISSES an almost stationary langley... holy god.... Okay fine 3rd and final chance to win this, ill sink it myself, just keep spotting their carrier with your planes okay? OKAY? What no don't send your planes back to reload theres only 1 minute left, spot for me!! Ill shoot him!

By the time I spotted the carrier myself in my wyoming there was 10 seconds left, my salvo didnt quite sink him. Obviously no time to reload. It ended as a draw. D:

had a similar game. 1 destroyer left on the other team, full fleet of fighter/bombers in the air had just killed the BB and is trailing the last destroyer. I had wrecked his steering/engine with my previous shot, he's down to 2k hp, burning and we have only a minute to kill him and my reload's 20 seconds out. I'm about 8km out in a wyoming and he had just crashed into the island and is immobile.

"ok, just keep him spotted while I reload".

Destroyer repairs and and starts steering... and vanishes because the carrier returns all of his planes. I fire a shot and miss because I don't know where the destroyer went.

Good job carrier, fucking imbecile.

Although knowing my luck my wyoming would've missed anyway. >_>

About 28k away from my Aoba, enjoying and despising the Furutaka in almost equal measure. Those 203mm guns are so hit and miss, even with the Main Battery Accuracy increase module... HE and AP are equally as frustrating with them but if you do land AP citadels which I am two/three times better at than I was 2 days ago then you do have some rush of excitement.

Just under 16k to the Cleveland. Omaha is quite a strange craft in that it floats around quite nicely and you just machinegun away at enemies. Sheer volume of fire is such that you can consistently hit, HE spam ensures fires galore on larger ships and AP spam, even at distance, can score Citadels and at close range I can expect a citadel or two per salvo.

Quite excited for both the Aoba (which resolves the Furutaka's major issues apparently) and the Cleveland (which is megawtf AAA support and will allow me to clear the majorly stupid aircraft kills missions I keep getting)

Good call. Though, if you miss out on this, not a huge deal. The Albany is terribad. As Jingles said, it's the least expensive ship in the gift shop (when it was on sale during CBT), and it's still overpriced.

It's actually worse than that. 3km shorter range (6.3 vs. 9.3), max speed of 20.3 knots vs. 24.4, 16.5k vs 18.4k hit points, nearly double the rudder shift time (9.2 vs 5 seconds)... this thing is so bad. But it is a free port slot, you're right

Side note, I'm disappointed that WoT and WoPlanes gold can't be used in WoWS.

As badas the Albany may be the free slot is worth it. I received the invite and logged onto my account 48 hours ago and input the ALBANY code and received the confirmation with a note stating that it could take up to several minutes for the slot to show up. 48 hours later and nothing ...

Are you sure it just isn't hidden to the left in the port? you have to click the arrow on the left to move your list of ships.

Thanks for the heads up! Just got it and played a match with it. Need to find out how to use it. Gun range is really short so kitting is out of the question. It doesn't seem to be much of a brawler up close. Its pretty much a cruise ship with guns

Probably sell it and stick with the Erie for a bit longer.

There's no way to "use it." It's simply a nerfed Chester. Unless you thought the Chester was way OP (it isn't), the Albany really doesn't have anything going for it.

That's kind of odd. I just logged into the game and didn't see anything. So I joined the in-game chat and asked, and was told I had to enter "ALBANY" in as a bonus code on the website. I did that and alt-tabbed back to the game. The ship appeared in under a minute for me.

Interesting ...

I entered the code twice, the first time I waited about 4 hours and nothing. Then I entered it again and again nothing. All of this after I logged into the website. Since the offer has been extended I will try again later this afternoon.

By the way guys, if anyone has the Atlanta, it becomes a lot better once you get the level 4 skill that increases the range of its guns by 20% (and the range of AA by 20%). 13.2km rangve vs. 11km range is massive.

I do find it a bit funny that they are selling credits on a game in Beta. Maybe I am being a bit paranoid.

But how do we know what we are buying is going to be the same when the game is released? Perhaps that point has been addressed somewhere but I couldn't find it.

Well, there isn't going to be a wipe of progress or anything. That has already been stated. There could be a change of some of the stats, but nothing too drastic.

Apparently the third time was the winner. I tried again and then it appeared in my account. I like the ship even though it is a dated design. I love the design of pre-ww1 ships but yeah ... It is pretty wimpy.

Yeah I haven't played it yet but have watched some YouTube videos of it. Man, the range is frickin HORRIBLE on it though. It seems like you'd lose half your damn health before you even get in frickin range to fire at the enemy.
