Up to now I have stayed away from MMORG's due to the time factors, ie I often have to leave the computer and certainly cannot schedule time online in advance. But I think I will try it out. I know WoW is very popular but I'm a little turned off by the cartoon graphics. Any other MMORG's that you like and why?

The only two MMORPG's I really got into were Acheron's Call and Lineage II.

I like them, I just don't play video games too much anymore.

Yes, you should find one of those MMORPGs that you can finish in 10-20 minute intervals.

There aren't any good MMOs out there right now. Wait until the next gen MMORPGs hit the market and see if they do anything worth earning your dollar.

WoW has some ok pvp IMO. The honor system is terrible, but the pvp combat itself can be pretty good group vs group.
But yeah, I'm looking forward to warhammer.

Guild Wars is my current favorite game.

Before someone says it's not an mmorpg, so what ?

and because there's no monthly fee, you won't feel commited to having to schedule time to get your money's worth out of it.

They are ditching the honor system (it IS crap) in the xpack. They are also adding 2-2, 3-3, 5-5 arena matches.

Wait for phantasy star universe. Not technically an MMORPG..but it should be a blast, if it's anything like PSO. Comes out in a month.

Other than that, i'd suggest WoW. I've played pretty much every MMORPG out there, and it IS the best. Hands down.

Well, not counting old skool UO.

Dark age of camelot on a classic server is pretty fun. Played a few years ago and recently got back into it.

As others have mentioned, if you have to leave the computer often, you might be better off with something that's not quite a true MMO; Guild Wars or Phantasy Star Universe, for example.

Personally, I've been playing Final Fantasy XI for about three years, but the required time commitment for most stuff is far more than WoW even, so it's probably not for you.

Actually, if you have limited playtime, WoW might be the ticket. The 1-59 game is fun and varied. It's only at 60 where you either raid or quit.

I thought WoW was going to consume my life. It just depends on how fast you want to level. There is tons to do in that game. It's like diablo2 on crack + meth + ecstacy x 10,000.

Even when you hit level 60 you don't have to raid all the time. You don't even need to be in a guild. You could just raid or run instances to find cool stuff with other people. It's fun. I hated guild wars, Ragnarok was okay, from what I've heard from countless people FFXI sucks, Star Wars sucks, and Everquest sucks. Get WoW. Do it, NOW!

I would also suggest EVE Online even though I hardly play anymore. But I still have skills training and my character is improoving even though I haven't played more than 30 minutes in the last 3 months. I may just sell my char on ebay or something. But still a great game, I just dont have time.

EVE indeed is a good one for playing in short intervals. Basically, there are two ways of improving your state in eve. One, in-game money. You get this in various ways, but it takes time in-game. You can buy better stuff...

The main way, however, is just time. You don't have to be logged in during this time, either. You just say what you want to learn (to shoot this gun or fly this ship, etc) and it tells you 'ok this will take x hours or x days to learn'. Get online again when that's supposed to be done, pick another skill. Repeat forever.

You do have to pay a monthly fee for it, however. But you definately can get things done in <1hr a day, or whatever your schedule may be. Most of the game is done solo, so no worrying about finding a group (Although you can do this if you want)... so you're out doing what you want to do quicker.

The whole learning based on time thing I thought sucked. It took away the point of the game. What's there to do other than gain ISK? Nothing. And when you have "enough" for the skills you have, it's pretty..boring.

you should try runescape... its free, and if you dont like it... you can walk away from it very easily, then if you like it, its only only $5 per month to become a member and get expanded functionality..
