Fiddle sticks, but IIRC somewhere on the darkfall forums it stated that there will be a "stress test" on feb 22 with trial accounts.

ya, basically another closed beta but with a few thousand more allowed to play. Bah, another month of waiting... I wouldn't be surprised if there ends up being another delay at this rate.

You level your skills instead of your character, Asheron's Call/UO was kinda like that...
The ability to loot anything on a players corpse will also annoy people...but then again i don't think it will be very gear dependent, if it ever comes out that is.

Also today (Feb 22) is a open beta for a stress test on the Darkfall servers.

Says you have to be registered with their forums to get in, but their site isn't making it past the homepage with the large amount of traffic I imagine. I forgot to get everything set up a few days ago

Was silent for most of the day but they recently posted that they did send out a wave of invites. NDA still in effect... very odd how strict it is. Anyways, at least they semi-met the Jan 22 deadline

I suspect there are several game play features/elements that they plan to cut out, so they don't want that sort of thing hyped and angry players when they find out it's not in the finished game.

yeah that makes sense. also reading that there are still features that have not been enabled in the beta builds, if they find something that just isnt ready they may want to keep that switch flipped off until it is more polished.

- The graphics are mediocre, even if they are on "reduced settings", the character animation is a joke...only the legs move when they run, and it looks like only one or two combat animations.

This is probably one of the least important aspects for me. The graphics do seem to have a 2001 or so feel to them, but I kinda like that. I really have little interest in Darkfall, but if players come back liking it pretty good, I may give it a chance.

It is all about gameplay. After playing the mess that is WAR, I have no interest in a game where all you do to level 40 is solo quest. Yes, you can do Scenerio's from 1-40, but for some reason I got a little bored in those as well. That's not to say WAR was all bad, I felt it had a lot of interesting innovations.

The quality of the graphics looks fine to me, what bothers me is that it seems to look really bleak as in not many objects to give the world some character.

Here are 2 high quality videos, the graphics aren't as bad as people are making them out to be. I use to think it was comparable to EQ, but it's far better.
