I believe he is saying he doesn't like most if not all MMO's or maybe the style MMO's follow today, as well as wanting eye candy. None of which is a bad thing.

ahh, I see lol. Well, if graphics is a large factor in deciding to play a game. There is always Mortal Online which we can expect in probably another year. Similar features to DF/UO, but with a UT3 engine.

Man I've been trying to pre-order all day but it just goes to a blank white screen if it ever loads. Then if I go back to the Profile screen it sometimes forgets my billing info and I have t re-enter it. Is this foreshadowing of how the game will play?

I also think the only offical video to promote the game is from 3 or so years ago. All the newer footage is from beta testers, could be there is a lot we are not seeing or that this all there will be. I don't care about the dated graphics, and more then anything that will probably help them attract the large market of people with low end systems. What I do care about is can you wage warfare in the game and how bad (cuz it's never good) will the grinding be? At the time I made the post this thread refers to the game sounded like all I could every want, but now that I am seeing bits and pieces of gameplay it has quickly lost it's shine.

It looks like they Copied and blended UO and shadowbane into one game. While a good idea I strongly dislike First Person Shooters and to be being forced into playing an MMO like a FPS is a bad idea to me. I still miss UO to this day as it was my first MMO and it was awesome. This game has potential but there are just too many negatives for a game thats not even live yet.

An argument for some of the things I have read on various sites. In my opinion, Graphics\Sound effects do not make or break the game. Good gameplay, storyline, and Character development weigh in much higher in my book. Everquest 1 pre GOD expansion in my opinion was the best example of a good MMO. I like variety in games. If I am playing an RPG of any sort I like being able to have a wide selection of races\classes to choose from. I dont like being forced to play a certain way though like in wow.

There is beta footage of people playing in 3rd person, though not zoomed out too much.

The reason you see the same spell is because very few people, in beta, took the time to get any decent mid or upper end spells.

I was in beta and thought it was a pretty good game overall. It beats the heck out of the same ole everday auto aim/auto attack MMO. I'm planning on ordering it today (if I can).

apparently server wipes were VERY common, so thats another contributor to not seeing very many advanced things

I recieved a pre-order confirmation email Last friday , yesterday i received an email stating they had billing issues or the my CC info was incorrect, there a couple of guildies playing atm, but they cannot do a lot, lots of synch issues. There's a couple of towns already being built...so far this launch is awefull, worse than any i have experienced in the past.

After playing for the last 2 days, this game is a lot of fun
-you run very slowly, getting from place to place takes a while
-sound system is very well done and you need to pay attention to sounds
-pve combat is hit or miss , lotsa bugged mobs
-full loot is awesome
-gfx are much better than i thought, world is huge

Also: If this is indicative of typical gameplay, this looks like the worst game imaginable. It's like Quake 3 in single player training mode, but with the added bonus of over-tedious inventory management.
