It should be noted that I don't plan on gambling while I'm at Vegas. Maybe some limit poker, but that's it.

It'll be me and the gf, our 3rd anniversary no less

On the list of things to do:

NIN concert =D
Cirque Du Soleil - KA
FOOD (not buffets)
Outlet shopping
MAYBE some other touristy stuff
Sex. Lots.

wow, thanks, maybe I will swing the extra for Venetian...

well, all the extra space is wasted since you are only going with your S/O. The "Comparative Advantage" is lost to Bellagio.

There's alot of sofa to frolic on

But yeah, I checked out prices again last night, and with Venetian's current special, it's pretty goddamn cheap: 180wk night + 210 wk end, for a room that seems waaaaaaay bigger than Bellagio.

And with KT's rec, I can stop by Bouchon, often.

This is going to be a 4-5 night trip.

Well if you stay at Bellagio you have a couple of good options. There is Sensi (moderate) and Michael Mina has a restaurant there (expensive). Guy Savoy has a place at Caesar's that is supposed ot be amazing, but quite pricey. Haven't made it there yet, but definitely plan to. I already recommended Bouchon at the Venetian, oh and robuchon has L'Atelier at the MGM. Oh crap almost forgot about Nobu at Hard Rock.

So let's see of everything listed, the only ones I haven't tried are Savoy and Sensi, but I have heard they are quite good by people I trust. I've only been to Michael Mina in SF, but it was great and the one in LV is supposed to be just as good.

I don't have any complaints about Papillon. I did a lot of reading before I left, and noticed some negative reviews. Can't please everyone, imo.

One thing to consider: Some of the smaller guys just resell for the bigger guys, so be careful about that.

Yes, huge foodie. My #1 recommendation for Vegas (we're heading back in a few weeks actually) is Mimmo Ferraro's if you like Italian. The agnolotti was insanely good there. This is an off-strip restaurant.

Rosemary's might be worth a visit if that's your style. It's one of the more popular places in Vegas. Hugo's is also quite good, and if you're into Keller type restaurants you could hit Bouchon. I've been to Bouchon in Yountville, but I don't know how well the Vegas location is.

Do you gamble? Places like the Bellagio/Wynn/Venitian have higher minimum bets because of the client base they aim at. A little more snotty than say New York New York, which is reasonably priced, and very fun.

I guess it comes down to the scene you are looking for. If you want a bunch of gorgeous 18-24 year old blonde women running all over, it would be the Palms.

I stayed there on my honeymoon. Pretty bad ass. I walked through most of the other major hotels and Bellagio was definitely in the top three.

I go every year at this time and have to say its a great time to go to vegas if youre not trying to meet women. Much cheaper than the summer.

Only hung out there and done the buffet. The buffet was top notch (if a little pricey), the bars I went to were all awesome, and the tables seemed mostly too rich for my blood (high $ min. bets)

edit: venetian is where i always stay, the rooms are really big for the money... course when I went it was always cheaper than the bellagio

No way I would stay at NYNY, when we were the a couple of months back, their A/C for the ENTIRE building was out for 2-3 days. No joke at all....
I understand things happen, but they didn't help their guests with refunds.

Venetian is nice, Bellagio is nice, Pallazo is nice because it's newer and so is Wynn, Paris is not bad. Depends on your budget they're all nice to stay in, if you have friends that are on the high roller list, they can get you rooms for free, very nice rooms. Like on top of Ceasar's overlooking Bellagio's fountain with free chocolate and stuffs.

I haven't seen KA, but I've heard that it is a little lackluster compared to the others.

Have you seen Mystere, O, LOVE?

Generally this is true, but in July Mrs. Ned and I played $5 blackjack at the Bellagio most of a day.

Seriously? Usually Ka is listed as the worst. Go figure.

I've seen all of the Vegas Cirque shows except for Ka, and while they are all great, Love is by far my favorite.

Thanks, must've been awhile since I read. This thing is still in planning stages; I just know I want to go to a Cirque show, doesn't really matter which one.

Here's how I would rank the ones I've seen:
Love (10+/10)
Mystere (9.5/10)
O (9/10)
Zumanity (7/10)

Ka was AWESOME. I just spent a weekend at the Bellagio, and saw Ka at the MGM. Shoot me a PM if you have any questions, I completely recommend both the Bellagio and Ka.
