mobile 2600 maxed out at 2400

12x200 is all I can get with the hardware shown in my sig. The vcore is 1.8, temp is 46 max under load. I switched the ram from dual to single channel but I am still stuck at 2400. I also did the L12 mod. Thanks.

2400 isn't too shabby... remember, the chip is only guaranteed to run at about 1866 Mhz =)
Two very important things you didn't mention... what motherboard do you have, and what's the stepping of your XP2600?

Well I'd say 2.4 Ghz is about the average overclock... mine's almost at 2.5... others have them at 2.4-2.5... some with water cooling have them at 2.5-2.7. Some of them just don't have the gonads to run any faster =) A Barton at 2.4 Ghz for $100 is an excellent deal though... if you're not a hardcore gamer or something it can easily last you through the year.

Yeah my 2500+ is at 2.51 with 1.85 vcore....so 2.4 with 1.8 is about right

I run my 2500+ mobile at (200 * 12.5) 2.5ghz at 1.75v, or 2.4ghz at 1.65v now since it's getting warmer outside here in Minnesota... I use a Thermalright SLK900A heatsink with a Sunon (quiet) 92mm fan. Temps are 32C idle and about 43C load at 2.4ghz.

I have an NF7 mobo and that mobo undervolts. I have mine set in the BIOS to 1.93 volts, but it's showing 1.84-1.86 in MBM. If you set your voltage to 1.8 in the BIOS more then likely it's 1.75 - 1.77 volts. That's a pretty good overclock to get 2.4 Ghz on that voltage. My mobile 2500 is running at 2580 Mhz at 1.93 volts. But I have very good cooling.

A mobile 2600+ is rated up to 2ghz, not 1863mhz (that's the 2500+)
2.4ghz at 1.8v seems a tad high, but if like previously mentioned, your mobo undervolts, then you're right about where you should be. Most of my CPUs could do 2.5-2.6ghz air cooled (IQYHA's), but the voltage required for those speeds would have killed the chips pretty quick...I'd rather be sitting at 2.4ghz with 1.65-1.7v or so...
2.4ghz is nothing to sneeze at though

I've gone through 2 mobile 2600's that took 1.8V or more to hit 2400MHz. Both were late week '03 IQYHA's, one was a mpmw & the other xpmw (I think, going from memory here).

Try reducing your video card's overclock a little (the core speed, not the memory speed). That helps some people.

Well I can do 235x10 in memtest but prime crashes. All I can get is 12x200. Anything over 200 crashes. Thanks.

NF7 problems with 2x512mb PC3200

Might explain why you cant hit over 200 fsb (Im assuming that your 1gb is 2*512).

My mobile 2500 is running at 11.5*200 @1.625v, but since my NF7-Sv2 undervolts, Im actually running about 1.59-1.60v. Had to drop it from 12*200 since UT2k3 kept crashing and I couldnt run Prime for more than an hour. Now its rock steady.
