Hiya people.

I have an Ericsson t39 and the advertising for the battery standby time is 300 hours. Unfortunately, the most I have gotten out of it -- using the phone's battery life indicator by sliding down the slider on the side -- is about 210 hours. What gives?

I had 270 hours before but it dropped to 250 hours in about a few minutes. This is my second battery -- as I thought there was something wrong with my first -- and there's no difference.

Any ideas? :frown:

That is what you would get under ideal conditions. If you go stand next to a cell tower for 300 hours the battery might just make it. Stop complaining. My parents are lucky to get 8 hours of stand by time on their phones (stupid analog mode!).

It's normal. Manufacturer's always overrate battery life. Real-world life will be significantly less than what's advertised.

You should notice a gradual drop off of the max standby time over time. Batteries will loose a little bit of their potency with every charge. Battery manufacturers, like the people that make flashes for cameras rate their batteries in contions that are not consistant with reality.

Remeber... if you use the backlight... that thing EATS!!!!!! batteries.

Turn it off, and your standby should increase. If it's already off, then the cell phone makers were just playing marketing games. the 300 hours standby probably means when the battery is charged by an atomic v/i curve tracer with twin turbos.... while the outside temp is 7.6345 degrees C, with the inside temp being 22.349 C... oh ya... and all the planets have to be aligned with the 3rd moon of jupiter.

backlight, messing around with a menu, a incoming call, or losing/reconnection of signal can be the cause of your gap.
