My bios hasn't been updated for 14 months!! I figure that the newer celerons use less voltage than the old ones so that with a good slocket they could work. What does any knowledgeable person think about this?
why not tell us the motherboard model you have. Also, the slocket does not generate the CPU core voltage but rather tells the motherboard what voltage to run at. If you motherboard can't generate the lower voltages, the slocket will not fix it.
I'm pretty sure you'll need a bios upgrade but with a MB model number I could possibly tell you for sure.
my bios didnot support above an 8 mult. and could not find any info on volt ...i have soyo 6ba+III board, Installed celeron600 in a MSI-6905 master slocket set volt to 1.55 on msi6905...plugged in turned it on now running 600@900 stable and fast... checked my bios now says I have 9x mult...check your board manifacter for bios upgrade..good luck.
