Mobo to overclock Celeron 300a.....

I just got one of these from a friend who had some sitting around. He said it was a stable overclock to 450Mhz easily. Now all I need is a motherboard and overclocking advice. I know it won't be the fastest thing in the world, but a computer is a computer, ya know

I want a decent ATX board, which could possibly be upgraded with a newer Celeron or PIII down the road at some point......

Pick up a Abit BH6 fron the sell/trade forum, works just fine with
Celeron 300a, thats what my wifes machine is now, been running 464 Mhz for a year now, no problems. Ron ( Radarman )

Sounds like you are trying to keep the price down. If so, few would argue with radarman--the classic o/c combo is a 300 celeron on a bh6. Try to get one of the later revisions, higher than 1.2. If you feel the need to spend more (particularly if you have a socket vs slot1 cpu) just scan this forum for about a week, and check the articles in the anandtech archives. Lots of opinions, lots of choices.

bh6 is cool, but i recommend the soyo 6ba+iv. more features than the bh6, and for me much more stable.

bh6 all the way. the bh6 rev. 1.1 is great. supports coppermine,celermine,celeron real stable.

If you just want to clock to 450MHz, most boards should be fine. Mine worked with PC Partner and AOpen boards (as always, the brand name AOpen is giving me a lot more trouble than the PC Partner, but that has nothing to do with the overclocking, which was simple).

For going to 504MHz, for example, you'll have to be more careful. Don't know what to tell you in this case. 450MHz is enough for me
