Modding Fallout 3...again

I played through Fallout 3 about 4 years ago for the first time and followed Gopher's modding video's on Youtube. I have the itch to play through Fallout 3 and New Vegas (never played) before I jump into Fallout 4. I loaded Gopher's modding video up and started reading the comments on how his guide is really not accurate any more as things have changed and some mods don't work anymore etc.

What I'm looking for is a quick guide or some insight that will allow me to mod these 2 games without glitches. I don't need to go crazy, maybe just a few graphical mods, some additional weapons and one to fixed the UI. I've Googled but really don't see anything for a mid 2016 play through.

You really need DarnUI or something similar. Default interface is for consoles and its not great.
I love the Underground Hideout, mostly because it has inventory sorting.
Or just go the Nexus, search for everything, and then sort by Endorsements.

I wonder if that is true or if those are just idiots unable to follow directions? I hope they are idiots, since otherwise I doubt we'll see many "modding Fallout 3 in 2016" articles. Personally I don't see why his videos would be out of date, but when you nab them, you can look at the title page or read.me for known incompatibilities. They probably won't have been updated recently, but then the mods probably haven't been updated recently either.

Personally, I'd try the Fallout: New Vegas Tale of Two Wastelands mod. That way you only have to customize one engine to play both games the way you wish. And don't forget about Project Brazil if you want an alternate beginning in FONV, although in another six months, the second part actually might come out. As long as it's been in development and as ambitious as it is, hopefully they will provide a way to visit the second area with am existing post-Part One character.

Also, The Frontier Mod might be released this Winter.
