blowholes! cut an exhaust blow hole on the top of your case.
That was the first thing I tried with my dremel and I considered myself an elite modder even though it was a tad bit crooked

Yeah, what's that mod called where you remember that it's just a hunk of electronics and simply use it? Oh, right, "being older than 15".

The most basic mod that's very effective is to cut out the grilles that cover the fan holes. Make sure you leave the areas where you screw in the fans intact. Add a fan grill on any holes that are exposed to the outside of the case, and leave the ones that are covered by the front bezel open.

It'll give you better airflow and most of the time will drop your case noise a dB or two.

This is the perfect intro to modding, gives you an idea of how to deal with the material that the case is made of, how to use your tools on it, and if it's ugly it really won't matter too much.

Yes!! You are a funny dude over in OT

Both my Lian Li mid-towers were modded for external rear 92mm exhaust fans.
One for paired 92mm intakes, the other for a 120mm intake. All removed fans were 80mm.
End result was good but quiet air flow. Both use filters for air intake=clean hardware&opticals.

OP. Google case modding & read. I use no LED fans because a light show is not important for me.

What tools would you need to cut out the grill? I have an 80mm fan on the side window that could easily be replaced without cutting but the 120mm rear is part of the case.

Get a dremmel, and some fiber glass reinforced cutting wheels. I like the fiberglass reinforced wheels better because they seem to last longer and do a better job. ALSO some safety glasses and a pair of gloves. Sometimes the cut off wheels fragment. Don't force the cut. I have a small, flat metal file to do fine work.

AHAHAHAHA my OCD got the better of me, and a simple 120mm grill cut turned into more of a 120mm OVAL cut to get the dayam thing looking nice. :\ But even after that i thought i was a L33T modder

<3 Dremels~!!

I just installed a 120mm top blowhole in my old PC-60 to match my newer PC-60. My case temp dropped about 4 degrees at load.

This might work or not for most people's cases, but its worth a try.

I used my RotoZip with a plywood template. The depth of the drill/cutter/grinder had tape on bit to handle depth and cut.
