modem and force com port setting

does any one know how to force an internal modem to be on com port 1 or 2.. i tried manual config, and even went into bios to change the com setting, but the PnP sets the internal modem at com5
anybody know how i can manually force it to com1 or com2

Look into your PCI/PNP Config, set to manual and assign the slot as Legacy Device. Make sure you disable the comm ports on your mobo if you want to use IrQ4 (comm1) or IRQ3 (comm2)
