Not really sure what?s going on here. 10 seconds after I press my desktop power button my cable modem disconnects and will stay disconnected as long as my pc is on, and shortly after I turn off my PC my modem reconnects. Even if I disconnect the ethernet cable from my PC my modem will still disconnect! How is that even possible? Its like my PC somehow interferes with my modem.
Last night I moved my modem into another room away from my pc and ran the ethernet cable to my pc but I got the same problem.
I have the 108G wireless router, now if I use my laptop wirelessly my router will stay connected. My modem only goes down if I turn on my wired desktop. If I bypass my router and connect my internet directly to my desktop my modem will disconnect.
I have not done anything that I think would be the reason for this to happen, and I had no problems with this setup for over a year.
I called my ISP and they said there are no restrictions or anything on my account.
I an using Windows firewall and AVG firewall. I tried turning off each, but still my modem disconnected......
Any ideas anyone?
