Modular Power Supplies

Hello and good day

I am getting ready to build a new set up soon and i am in need of some outside input as to what PSU i should get.

I am mainly looking at modular PSU's , and the one i currently have my eye on is the Antec NeoHE 500W or the 550W one. From the reviews i have read the 550W one did pretty good overall. Opinions?

Any other PSU reccomendations are welcome as well as personal experiences with these specific PSUs or Antec's in general. I am looking to spend up to $150 CND, and modular is a must.

Enermax Liberty in 400, 500 or 600+watt flavors.
Enhance ENS-0560G, 600W. Specs at http://www.enhanceusa.com/ They do not adverise and that is why they are not expensive. No add dollars are spent in Asia, Europe or the Americas. They make good stuff, it's not rebranded
Froogles for about $120, http://www.ewiz.com/ did have them for $103 but they are OoS.
Check ewiz for Liberties.

That's an interesting bunch of countries to pick, why those? Is it some kind of hidden riddle? Are they all linked by colonialism or rugby or something like that?

Enermax Liberty 500W - powers an overclocked athlon and x1900xt for me.

Took a look @ the suggested ones and the Enermax seems pretty good, and its at a very reasonable price.

The silverstone is $180 ..... a lil too rich for my blood.

eWiz will ship Internationally but you are better off dealing locally...I guess.

Just one more thing, i am prolly gonna be getting the antec p180 for my case, and im wondering if the power cable on the enermax will be able to reach the mobo's power connector?

I have heard of certain power supplies not being able to reach to the connector on the motherboard on this case.

http://www.silentpcreview.com/ has three reviews of the P180...Read all three. One is a complete build, cable lengths are discussed at length over there.

Enermax should list how long the cables are, if not, SPCR has done a review of the 500 Liberty(iirc) and they always measure cables for a review.

The P180 is a heavy case empty, it weighs 31# (15Kilos) with nothing in it. If it comes with the early production front door, replace it right away. Antec gives one away free with every new P180 I don't care for the case but many love it. *shrugs*

It would be in the archives. I think JBDan put it together. That bit of info might help the search.
