Very Good find!!

Here`s a few paragraphs from the bottom---
This Power Supply is professionally sleeved by Performance PC's. While the PC Power and Cooling Turbo Cool Deluxe 510 Power Supply is the best in the market, you will find that our sleeving techniques and range of options are far superior to what they offer you. This power supply and is modified to a Modular unit with fully removable cables on all lines except the ATX line. This is very handy for using only the cables you need in your system. Cables are also fully covered in Techflex sleeving and Premium heatshrink. The featured model here uses Black with UV yellow tracer sleeving and black heatshrink and includes Easy Grip UV Yellow Molex connectors. You can order this model or choose any colors you wish below. We happen to think this color combination is quite stunning!
The warranty for this power supply is 5 years from PC Power and Cooling. Performance PC's workmanship has been certified as Grade A by PC Power and Cooling and therefore we can now offer you their fully warranty on our modified power supply. We are very pleased to receive this certification and to offer you this very fine product customized to your wishes.

Excelent find!!

the issue wasn't the bumps, it was the added resistence that the modular plugs added. in RC racing the name of the game is getting the most power to the wheels of your car for the aloted time. and power loss is power that could of been used to give your car that little bit of extra speed

Neopower? hahaha, Maybe I'm just a fanboy but This Modular PSU is hands down the best Modular PSU. People always carry on and on about OCZ & Antec. Enermax makes the BEST PSU's for the money.

I just talked with PCPower and Cooling.....about the modular issue...

They said that Performance PCS actually showed up at there offices with a modular versions of various PSU`s....

They did give Performance PCS there seal of approval.
Performance PCS does excellent work!!

But they will NOT send out any moified modular PSU`s from their factory because their customer base wants everything to be direct from the PSU to whatever you are powering.
The techie also stated that they are mainly geared towards the heavy duty industrial PSU user.
Because there high end customer base actually requires there be no loss of current or bleeding of current!
Also again the techie said our customer base continues to grow. We see no need to do anything modular.

Its all about standards.
Not necessarily that modular PSU`s are bad.

But it gets back to the issue of loss of currrent even in minute increments........
The techie at PCPC also told me that gold plated connectors are mostly the norm throughout the industry.
But with constants plugging and unplugging you will get minute( not minute as in a unit of time...but minute as in a uber small amount) if not apparent corrosive elements on the connectors!

Just a quick note the techie also told me that for an additional fee they would custom fit all your cables to whatever lengths you specify......
Which I should have done but did`nt!
What you do is measure everything the lengths...this also includes the lengths yhat you may be routing a cable in order to hide....

Also the fan now has a modified circuit that will iether slow down or speed up depending on the heat from the PSU.

Also as we were speaking what the techie was saying made alot of sense....

My observations concerning our discussion are as follows!

I believe what the techie told me entirely.....
But I believe what was not said is also important.....
We did not get into the aspect of what constitutes an everyday gamers requirement for a solid performing PSU!
Because it was obvious to me that the word "industrial " kept coming up.....
Thus I would assume that there hardcore customer base or there bread and butter so to speak comes from the industrial applications of having a rock solid never waivering insanely reliable power supply!

The issue about a noisy fan was addrerssed in there newer units.....yet IMO if your an industrial user fan noise is not at all included in the equation!
What you care about is reliability and quality and the fan needs to do its job...quiet or not the fan must be uber reliable!

As gamers we need to understand that not all companies are out there to provide components for our use at a cheap and affordable price to the everyday computer user!

We say there prices are high yet considering what there customer base is how do you put a price on reliability supposedly even under extreme industrial applications?

I do know that medical and research facilities(not all but some) use there PSU`s and some even request that there PSU`s be used in equipment that is bought.

So we say they are expensive......
There customer base says they are reliable and how do you put a price on that kind of reliability?

Even the tech told me there are good companies on the market.......
This is just our approach and our emphasis has always been on providing top quality , reliable units to all our customers.

Again I thank you all for a very enlightening good solid duscussion!!

Alot of good peeps on these forums!!

my brother had the main power connector melt itself the the socket on the mobo once. It was almost charred around the pin that caused it. Just one pin did it. not sure why but its a good bet it was a poor connection either because of corrosion or a loose pin to wire connection.

in R/C racing we used silver solder for lower resistance and gold plated connectors to prevent corrosion. the 1st thing we did was cut off the stock connector of anything we bought. once in a while someone running stock connectors would burn it up and a couple actually had flames. you wouldnt believe how hot cheap connectors can get.
