When did these get so cheap? I wanted one of these back in June but they were still $150... $90 seems hot, $70 is a steal! This is one of the (if not the) best racing wheel out...

Yea.. its not the leather wrapped wheel with the aluminum pedals... but beyond that - it looks to be the same wheel.

Objectively, how much better is this than the Thrustmaster Nascar Pro Digital 2 that was $20 after MIR at CompUSA during the Black Friday 2-day sale?

I've never used a FF controller (besides a Sony PS shock gamepad) and I'm not sure I really dig FF. Some vibration in the wheel doesn't sound all that appealing. The racing wheel was mostly an impulse bargain purchase anyway; I wasn't actually in the market. Most likely, this thing will collect dust in the corner of my room. ;|

I think the TM wheel is okay (and a great value) but I'm not thrilled at the light weight of the pedal base or the spring-loaded mechanisms. But if I'm keeping a wheel anyway (who knows, I might dump it instead), and this thing is much better than the TM non-FF wheel in quality/feel/etc. then I could pursuade myself to reconsider. I do in general, appreciate Logitech hardware.

Or how much better is it than this Logitech bargain FF wheel?

i am also very interested in this wheel. Is quality of material the only difference between both Momo Wheels?

For either wheel, these are great prices. I read the MOMO's have better quality than the GP's, but I never used either wheel. Some people would say that even the original model (older than the GP) is also better than the GP. There are several sites with comprehensive reviews. If you like driving simulation games, get the MOMO. For occasional use with arcade style games (NFS series, xxx Madness, etc), get the cheap one.

PS: For most games, force feedback is crappy, so either wheel will do. Bargain value, however, the MOMO is a better deal.

/e: If you plan to use with PS2, research the issue, well. Some wheels work, some don't.

Both the Momo wheels are excellent! I bought the original last year on special from Buy.com for $140 after rebate and love it. I don't know what some are complaining about with the pedals?

I did see the new Momo wheel in CC and the wheel seems to be the same, but it's rubber coated instead of leather wrapped. Also, the paddle shifters and foot pedals are plastic. The one new thing with the new wheel is the addition of a regular shifter (not gated, but sequental forward and backward) along with the paddle shifters. I would've liked that on the original Momo wheel because it just feels odd to run Viper Racing or a NASCAR game with paddle shifters.

At this price, I may just buy this Momo wheel in addition to the original one that I have. That way I can run my NASCAR and Viper Racing games and use the regular shifter instead of the paddle shifters.

I think this is an excellent wheel. Much better than the Thrustmaster wheels or the older Logitech wheels. The new wheel feels just like my original Momo wheel even though it's not leather wrapped.

Bump for more opinions. Thanks Salvador.

Since I already opened the Thrustmaster wheel I bought at CompUSA, can I exchange it for the MOMO wheel without a restocking fee? I can repack everything in mint condition (I'm extremely careful opening up new accessories), but the plastic bag holding the manual/CD was cut open with scissors.

The TM Nascar Pro Digital 2 wheel isn't bad and I'm not really a racing enthusiast (neither am I a flight sim enthusiast as I have a Saitek X45 gathering dust), but I don't exactly dig the TM pedals/base.

FWIW, if you search the price engines, you can find the premium MOMO wheel for as low as $130 (suitable for pricematches).

One of my roomates picked his up last nght. It IS a MOMO wheel - although with the rubber surround instead of the leather. It does have a stick shift and it can be switched from right to left side of the wheel. Construction on the unit is top notch and the feedback effects are awesome! We have only used it with Grand Prix Legends - and it makes a HUGE difference. The spring return rates on the pedals are fantastic! It really feels like you are pressing on a progressive brake pedal!

I want to purchase more racing games just to see how they work with the wheel!

For $69 - you can't go wrong.

I have one of the TM wheel's....friggen Shifter Paddle spring inside went limp in under 100 laps of racing. Need to RMA.

This MOMO is nice for one thing, it uses Optical sensors for the Wheel (not Pott's...) I have a 3 year old MS Joystick that uses them and it still is fantastic. Better precision also. Don't know if the pedals use Optical or not. Review of it right now at Toms Hardware.

Well it's now on sale for $71.99 and free shipping today at Amazon.com. $20 MIR.

I just couldn't resist and am willing to pass on instant gratification at CompUSA. I guess I'll try to return the non-FF Thrustmaster wheel if possible.

Also, Best Buy B&M is selling the MS FF wheel for $100 - $50 MIR beginning on Sunday. I personally don't care for MS hardware, but that's also a good deal (with some 10% in-store coupons available). FWIW, the Sidewinder FF flight stick is also $100 - $50 MIR. I guess competition in gaming controllers is heating up.

I think the Logitech Momo stuff is the best out there other than the multi buck expensive stuff that will cost you at least $250 on up.

This is by far the best consumer FF wheel in the $140 price range and under. You can't go wrong. I bought one a month ago at CompUSA when they first came out for $99. It is very similar to the old MOMO but uses rubber (soft rubber, feels good.. better than the LWFF rubber wheel surface) instead of leather as people said for the wheel surface and plastic paddle shifters instead of metal, but also adds a sequential gear shifter that is moveable to the left or right side of the wheel (for the lefties). The force feedback engine is probably the same as the original MOMO, so good quality and the overall quality of the wheel itself is as good as the original MOMO. The mounting system is a little better on the new MOMO Racing. The pedals are also improved this time around, they are similar in look as the MSFF pedals but the brake pedal has a good amount of resistance. The biggest difference is that this new MOMO uses optical sensors instead of pots for the wheel mechanism and that means that it should last much longer. The Microsoft Sidewinder FF wheel also used optical sensors from day one. Also I know for a fact these MOMO's work on Playstation 2 with force feedback, hooked up to the USB port. That is my little review. You can find more such reviews by searching this RaceSim Central forum for "MOMO Racing" or "MOMO" in the past 45 days. This is a MUCH better wheel than the old Logitech Force GP wheel and MSFF. A good deal better than the Logitech Wingman Force Feedback as well.

19 pounds of racing was delivered today.

Unfortunately, Amazon.com bumped up their price significantly, from $71.99 to $89.99 before MIR.
