i heard lately alot of ppl having problems with monarch are they back on track now im thinking of getting a mobo combo from them

their prices are ownage, and they charge fairly reasonable shipping price for Canadian customers like me. I'm bound to purchase from them soon.

Slower to ship than newegg.. apart from that no problems.. their hdd prices are usually very competitive.. esp in the 300 gig range SATA

OK for parts, really, really bad for custom built systems.
Getting a combo is fine, just bas long as you don't mind waiting a few extra days for it.

well i want to get a dfi ultra d and a 3500 and some ocz ram and if i buy it from them they will put everything togeather for me and update the bios too !!!!!! so that great for me sinceim afraid to update bios on a dfi board lots of horror stories

also i get halfife 2 for free and other free gifts liek a keychain for pretty much the same price as on new egg !

Check out this BS email I got from them. I was returning a stick of Patriot memory for the second time. So I asked that I try another brand this time. Since I can't get a refund, they give me store credit.

If anyone has had a problem with Monarch custom built PC's please post your experience. I'm strongly thinking about purchasing through them because they have more options than Ibuypower although a little bit more expensive, but worth it if they double check everything and are thorough before shipping....

well basically i'm looking to get something like this:

AMD X2 3800+
7800 GT videocard (7800 GT CO if i order from Monarch, only 1 and only sli for future uptrade possibility)
MSI SLI board (I'm still somewhat undecided on Mobo but leaning towards this)
2 GB memory
WD 400 GB Harddrive
Window XP Media Center with TV Tuner + remote
Coolermaster Wavemaster case
Enermax 565 535 watt powersupply
Both give free HL2 and some other game or knick knacks


Ibuypower comes out to < $1900 with buy coupon. Monarch comes out to about $2000'sh dollar. Both not factoring in shipping. But everything i've read so far indicates Monarch having better ratings until i saw this thread

Monarch is a good company to do business with. This year they had build time problems due to their business not being able to grow with their customer base. Basically they didnt have enough people to do the job. This past summer they hired more people but its taken them time to properly train these new people to build a pc. Right now its taking a calendar month for them to build a custom system. If you get the rush order it'll shave a few days off that time.

As far as the rest of their components/parts they arent as fast as say NewEgg or ZZF but its not too slow. Their prices are very competitive though. If you want something over night then best to look elsewhere but if a few days is acceptable then Monarch serves well.

I've only ordered from them once, but I ordered an item on a Tuesday night that was listed as "in stock" on their site. I called them on Thursday after the item hadn't shipped and was told it wouldn't be in stock until later that afternoon or Friday. I cancelled the order.

I ordered from them... once. While not a custom system as such, I did pre-order an Athlon X2 from them earlier this year, and was not too happy that they charged my credit card (actually charged, not just placed a hold for that amount) as soon as the order was placed, regardless of the fact that the X2's never did come in for a month after that. What was more disconcerting was that the guy they had here to answer questions just kind of stopped showing up in the middle of all of this. Finally, I canceled in disgust and ordered from Newegg instead.

I live near the Monarch office / warehouse. I went in to pick up parts for my new PC a couple weeks ago. Prices are the bomb. Phone support was terrible, took a long time to get anyone from sales to return my call. I called in the order, and asked to pick it up later that day. When I arrived, they hadnt pulled any of the parts from the warehouse, and I had to wait nearly an hour for thier stock-monkey to get all the parts.

Buying purely based on prices, they are good. Service/support seems to be lacking.

I ordered something from them once. Maybe about six months ago. For the life of me I can't remember what it was. Item shipped off in decent time. Decent experience.

I wrote an email complaining about haveing to pay twice. A person in customer service wrote back and straightened everything out. New stick of Corsair on the way.
