On Monday I ordered parts for some hardware musical chairs I'm going to play to upgrade my main gaming rig. Like many of us I read Reseller Ratings and posts here. I've always bought from NewEgg, but to get what I wanted and the best prices I wound up ordering this time from Monarch and ZZF. Here's my experience.
From Monarch I ordered a MSI k8N neo2 plat. and a retail 3200+ 90nm 64. I used their bundle thing which also netted me a bronze copy of HL2 via Steam, 4 months of Napster and the preassembly testing. (that last part didn't matter, but what the heck if they want to slap the hsf on and mount the proc more power to em)
Monarch's automated email system did an excellent job updating me on the status of my order. And I can see why - their turn time was outstanding. The order actually got out on the same day, with two day shipping it is right here on my desk! Their packing also desrves praise as it was very well done and arrived here in perfect shape. If there are any issues with the build it won't be from shipping problems.
From this I would recommend Monarch without hesitation and will no doubt order from them myself in the future.
Then there's Zip Zoom Fly, or is that Lag Stall Crawl?
Yes, those stories about them being slow are too true. From them I ordered a 200gb Seagate SATA drive. When I hadn't received any update whatsoever and the order still showed as processing late TUESDAY night I sent an unhappy email. This morning I received a reply that my order would process and ship today (like what, I'm supposed to thank them for that?) and noting that their policy states that processing may take up to 2 days. Well, policy or not if you can't turn your orders in a competitive time perhaps you're in the wrong business. Everyone has a similar policy. As evidenced by the competition they use it when problems arise. ZZF apparently uses it to just cover being slow.
Bottom line, I wouldn't recommend ZZF nor will I ever purchase from them again. With Monarch and NewEgg out there why fuss with slowpokes? Now I have to wait to do my build because I saved $15 - whoopie. Not one of my better decisions. I won't make that mistake again.
