This is a post for everyone who bought a 2001fp for 719.25 or 709 or whatever you got it at recently.

This is a repost of the end of the recent 2001fp thread, for those of you who have not been reading up:
Dell dropped the price of the 2001fp to $899, so call in and see if you can get the price adjusted. I was only successful with getting a $50 credit but will call back again later today to try again. Either way, $670 is a much better price for a new 2001fp than 720 is (btw my CSR was Karen, id#66304)

I got shot down over dell chat ( but you knew that already yobbo .

I'll call and give it a shot for 75. If that doesnt work, I'll definitely take 50.

try to return it

and they might give you something

that is what happened when i tried to return my 2001FP with a dead pixel and i already had a 2000fp

they offered me like 40 back and an exchange

so i took that and sold the sealed one on ebay

and made a nice profit

i have spent 3-5 grand on dell in the last couple years so that might be a factor

so YMMV

I tried doing something similar. I was like "well then I'll return it and buy a new one with the coupon" (i dont think there is a coupon anymore neway or else i would do that). They are like "ok, go ahead, want the RMA dept?"

I was like "*whimper* no"

I did email because chat wasn't working.

Mine came to 790 cause of stupid tax here in WI.

So the first response is a canned message. I reply back.

Second message I get from them is that i got my monitor for less than 999 already.

I email this person again (name was Udo) telling them that I was wondering if I could get the difference of my 20 or 25% (couldn't remember which) price adjustment on the 899 instead of 999.

Got an email stating my printer wasn't on sale. (this is a different order that I had placed)

Now, I understand they might not be able to speak good english but at least freaking read the email!!!

In the printer email I did get this:

However In appreciation of you being Dell valued customer and as a
customer care gesture I am offering you $50 refund or $75 discount
coupon for your next purchase from Dell Home and Home Office Section.

Guess I will be taking the $75 discount on my next purchase.

Care to give UDO's email address/CSR id?

Thanks,

From reading the other thread, Dell's 30 day price guarantee doesn't apply to monitors. If this is correct, then any refunds or credits Dell is giving on this deal are a matter of customer courtesy than any obligation on their part.

If I'm wrong, or am missing something, please post the corrected info.

BTW, I finally set up my 2001fp last night-it's pretty impressive.

I got mine for $709.25 and I haven't opened the box yet.
Should I pitch-a bitch about a better price?

Not complaining_just curious!

Yea, I think this is right although if there were a 25% off coupon and a 30/40$ stackable coupon out now then we would have a lower price...

Yeah, its nice...I can see the screen door effect every now and then but no dead or locked on pixels or sub-pixels. The corners are a little whiter than the center but nothing I can't live with

Ok, I called them a couple more times but the best offer was $50 and since another $25 isn't worth another couple of hours on the phone, I'll keep to that. $670 is not bad, I'll take it

Did you end up following through with karen, or whoever first told offered you $50?

Because I'll probably just contact her to avoid complications and headaches with dell.

Thanks,

Steve
