but I disagree. It can definitely buy temporary happiness. I'm eating 1/2 pound USDA Prime burger lunch in my private cabana looking at this.
Yes, this. The saying is backwards anyways. "Lack of money brings unhappiness" is far more true.
For example, if you did not have enough money to be in a private cabana eating a burger, then you would probably be less happy than you are now. (Congrats by the way).
As for more money, how much happier would you be if that was a kobi beef burger instead? Probably not much, if any. So, once you are relatively happy, then MORE money does not buy you much more happiness.
The burger wasn't very good. It was cooked medium rare like I requested but didn't have much flavor. Everything else I've eaten here have been good to excellent. The saying is backwards anyways. "Lack of money brings unhappiness" is far more true.

Thanks!I'm happy for you... does that count?
Seriously though, that looks like paradise. Enjoy!
RItz Carlton, Cancun. Cancun itself is a shithole tourist trap and has zero culture but it has beautiful beaches, cheap beachfront hotels, and generally better service than other places in the Caribbean. I'm not here for the culture or to party. I just want to relax on the beach, be pampered, and eat some decent food. So it hits all my checkpoints. This is like my fifth trip here in the last 4 years or so.It's true money can't buy happiness... if you don't have any money.
Where are you at OP? Looks nice!
Good to see you are bragging.
I would too
Enjoy your time in paradise.
My daughter and I went on swim with the whale sharks tour. We did that one because it was only half a day and Cancun is one of the few places in the world you can see the magnificent creatures out in the deep ocean feeding in its natural habitat. We also snorkeled a bit at Isla Mujeres. I was in Cozumel last November and did the wandering around like tourists thing back then. You can Scuba in Cancun with their tourist groups without a proper scuba license, water is only about 20-30 feet deep around most of the reefs ... I suspect if you had any interest at all you would have already done it, but if you haven't I'd recommend it. Most fun I had down there ...
Also, we have fun taking the ferry over to Cozumel and wandering around like tourists
But the beaches in Cancun, yes , so amazing!
That is on my bucket list hopefully I do it sooner than later. I may wait until my son is old enough to enjoy it before we ever do it though. My daughter and I went on swim with the whale sharks tour. Late July and August are the peak months for whale sharks and when you'll most likely see it. We saw bunch in the water. Each boat can take max 10 passengers besides the boat captain and his assistant who will swim and help you in the water. Only two people along with the one crew member can go in the water at a time. Each swim is about 5 minutes and you're allowed two or three jumps. So you might be in the water for 10-15 minutes max. That doesn't sound like a lot but it's pretty tiring swimming in the ocean and trying to keep up with the whale sharks. They swim fast although the ones I saw was just parked itself vertically and was just feeding in that position. Really, really cool. The sharks are huge and have funny cartoon like wide mouth. I rented a wetsuit to swim faster but it was still tough and tiring swimming in that open ocean water. That is on my bucket list hopefully I do it sooner than later. Did you all see the whale sharks? If so how long did you guys get to swim with them? I heard they only let a few people in at a time so you kind of take turns doing it.
I plan on making a trip to Cancun or Mayan Riviera during the whale shark season but I've also heard that some times people go out and don't see them.
