I was going to drive down to Miami and Key West but not with the protest and riots going on right now.


Hermes is cheaper to buy in France. Once this dumb virus dies down, I'm going to take my wife to Paris to do some shopping at the flagship Hermes store there.

She received her scarf last week. I'm trying to buy her another Hermes scarf but the design I want to buy for her is not available to purchase online right now. That's Hermes game. They make it really difficult to purchase the item you want to buy. Just because you have money doesn't mean you can just buy what you want at Hermes. It doesn't work that way. It could be years before you have the opportunity to buy certain Hermes product at retail if at all. There are scarves, bags, and wallets my wife wants I'm trying to buy for her that I don't know if I will ever get to buy for her. Not because of lack of money. It's because Hermes won't sell it to me. Not yet. Maybe never.

It's artwork. Plus, each design pattern have multiple color options. There are 15 different color patterns for the above Les Artisans design. The color patterns and artwork makes big difference how each scarf looks when it's worn. As does how you tie the scarf. There are dozens different way to wear and tie the scarf.

Hermes scarves are famous and many past seasons designs become collectors items. Designs constantly change for spring/summer and fall/winter every year. So if you miss a design, you might not get a chance to buy it again. As it is, it's not like you can just walk in and buy any design/color scarf you want at Hermes store. I want to buy C'est la Fete scarf for my wife. It's a male scarf but we both think the design is awesome. It's also first two sided scarf made by Hermes. I know it's going to be future collectors item. Yet I can't buy the scarf because I can't find it in the US.

Each Hermes scarf is still handmade and borders are sewn by hand. If you saw how each scarf is made, you would sort of understand and appreciate the amount of work and craftsmanship that goes into making each single scarf. Some of the really intricate designs have more than 130 colors that goes into each scarf. That means they have to block off and change colors 130 times. It's crazy the amount of work that goes into making these scarves. Most Hermes products are extremely overpriced but I think their scarves are actually pretty reasonably priced considering their beautiful designs and how labor intensive it is to make each scarf.
