Money being no object, I'd choose neither, and go with a E7-8890 v3.

If money is no object then it doesn't matter at all to not get the most powerful one at any given time and at every single time there is an upgrade available and set your previous one on fire in front of all youtube audiences.
Or to just buy Intel perhaps.

Not even a bad idea, considering the ad revenue could very well pay for your new chip, lol.

I own a rock solid (RealBench solid) 4.4Ghz 5960x and it's fast, both in gaming and in multi-tasking.

I'm a bit lazy to dig up the numbers right now, but a highly overclocked 5960x can draw close to 300W fully loaded if my memory serves.

edit: 4.4ghz 5960x is pulling about 350w http://www.corsair.com/en-us/blog/2014/september/haswell_e_overclocking_and_power

Well I for one don't want a 350W pulling CPU. D:

Also, if these 8 core CPU's can run at 4.4Ghz without any issues, that makes their overclocking abilities literally equal to the legendary Celeron's that came out at 300Mhz that people use to clock at 450mhz, yet I find this very hard to believe it is the case.

Remember the 8 core has solder, not the paste that consumer level Intel cpu's have had since Ivy bridge. Previous gens with solder could overclock by over 1GHz.

They likely used Prime95, which is known to produce abnormally high power draw. This is due to some new instructions to Haswell and Skylake that Prime95 utilize. It is no longer safe to use Prime95 on newer CPU's due to this change. Temps also skyrocket.

According to ASUS, 4.4GHz @ 1.3v is a "below average" result, 4.5GHz @ 1.3v is an "average" result, and 4.6GHz @ 1.3v is an "above average result." They advise a triple radiator cooler like the H110i, though.

Hitting well north of 4GHz on all 8 cores is pretty routine for the 5960X.
