Hi. Yesterday I just built a system. Not sure if specs are important but here they are anyway:
CPU: Intel c2d e4300
VGA: 8600 GT Passive
Mobo: Gigabyte P35 DS3R
Memory: 2*1GB Mushkin DDR2 800mhz
HD: 1 IDE and 1 SATA
The problem I have is that my 22" HP monitor power light is orange instead of green when I turn on the computer and nothing comes up on the display. Orange light usually means no signal received.
Computer was working fine yesterday and today until this afternoon, the screen turned black. I thought it was the usual screensaver but this time when I moved my mouse, the screen stayed black. I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate. I've also tried:
1) Securing the ATX connectors inside
2) Taking out memory to see if memory is damaged although these sticks were purchased 3 months ago
3) Securing monitor cables
By the way, I'm using an Analog to DVI convertor since I use an analog cable for my monitor but the VGA card only accepts DVI connection.
Does anyone have any advice on how I can fix this problem? Thanks
