I don't think it's worth it. This is a work monitor that my boss bought for me. It was probably $250 new back in 2001 (paid too much if you ask me). I just talked to him and there was a 1 year warranty on it, so we're SOL there considering that it's nearly 3 years old now.
I thought about the "$35 just to look at it" policy and that eats into the cost of a new one. It's only a 17" monitor and it's actually a rebranded Liteon believe it or not. I had never heard of Liteon making a monitor, but apparently they do. It was a pretty good monitor. Better looking than the 17" KDS that I bought for $60 after rebate ($150 monitor). I usually use that monitor for a back up and for also to use to set up new systems. I'm back to a 14" Compaq monitor for that duty.
Anyway.. Regardless of what it is, the monitor doesn't work and it's probably a minimum of $40 to fix, so I think I'll just buy a 19" flat screen CRT or something instead and put the money saved to diagnose this one towards it.
Thanks again.
