Question Monitor for accounting and reading data

My daughter had been working from home since this past March.
She works for a financial institution.
She uses a Dell laptop and is on the laptop 8 to 10 hours a day.
If I remember correctly the laptop has a hdmi output that can be used with a monitor.
I would like to buy her a larger monitor that is much easier on the eyes.
It has been years since I have bought monitors and have fallen way behind on things.
To get started, Maybe a 23 or 24 inch monitor.
Screen that can show numbers and text cleanly. (told you I was way behind)

27" or 34" Ultra-wide. She'll appreciate being able to have essentially two 1080P Windows side-by-side.

Edit: OH, maybe not. If she doesn't have a discrete GPU in that laptop with HDMI 2.0 output, then she might not be able to drive an ultrawide.

In that case, just get a 27" 1080P IPS monitor.

27" 1440p or even better a 34" 1440p, if the computer supports it. You need to find out what kind of hdmi it has and what resolution it supports.

You can look up the specific model Dell she has on the Dell support website here. The laptop should have a service tag code which is Dell's version of a serial number. It is probably located on a sticker on the bottom, usually on a white strip underneath a small bar code. There will be two codes - one is the service tag code and the other is the express service code. Just enter the service tag code into the search box on the right side of the screen and it should pull up the exact model and configuration of her machine. Once you have this, we can probably give you more information.

What VirtualLarry and biostud said. I use two 34" ultrawides (1440p) stacked one on top of the other for budget and accounting work and they are amazing. I can use a program like GridMove to break the two screens into 4 screens or I can use one screen for a whole spreadsheet and see columns galore.
