Hi all,
I have this sligh problem just a minute ago. I swtiched on my machine (was working perfectly early today) and the monitor had all these vertical white lines kinda bunched up in groups. Like a group of 4 lines or so would be very close together and then a big space and then another 4 lines. That's was when the OS is loading.
When it actually loads up the lines are still there and it was in 640*480 res!! I checked the device manager and the graphics card drivers are still installed although a bit hard to read with all these lines running across the screen.
I restarted the machine and it didn't help. Then I powered off the machine completely and also took off the case and just gave the graphics card a push (didn't pull it out and reseat it). Then when I power on again everything was running fine again!!
Now my question is. Was this caused by a graphics card coming loose (although I didn't feel it was loose at all and the machine was sitting there the whole time and no one bumped into it). Or is it my monitor is dying? It's a relatively new monitor I only bought it 1.5 years ago
Thanks in advance.
