Hi again, I just last week ordered my parts and today I put them all together, I turned the baby on and...........nothing. The fans spin, etc. but the monitor says no signal and then goes into low power mode thing.

Pic1 Pic2 Pic3

Here's the specs:
Corsair 520W
Logitech X-530 5.1 Speaker System
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600
Acer 20" 8ms DVI Widescreen
https://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=321123">XFX GeForce 8600GT 256MB</a>
Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320GB
Cooler Master Centurion
Logitech Ultra X Keyboard & MX310 Mouse Combo
GIGABYTE GA-965P-DS3
Vista 32bit Home Premium
Corsair 2GB Kit DDR2-533 PC2-4200 Value Select Memory
Sony NEC Optiarc Black SATA DVD Burner - OEM

I've tried to use both kinda of signals digital and analog and I can't get it to do anything>_<!

Also, when I turn the computer on I don't hear any beeps at all. Like I said though all the stuff is running. I'm clueless and not willing to accept defeat seeing how much I spent on the thing. I've read all the manuals that came with all the stuff....

Chances are your PC isn't POSTing. It could be something as simple as swapping the RAM sticks. It's been awhile since I've had this problem. I know ASUS has a thing where you can plug in the headphones and hear the POST error although I'm not sure of Gigabyte's notification method.

Is the PC speaker plugged in correctly to the motherboard? (trying to see if you can get beep codes)

Try the easy stuff first like reseating the ram/videocard.

Unplug everything you don't NEED to post and try to get that working first.

It's possible the board is shorting out on the case.

You could eliminate that possiblitity by taking the MB out of the case and placing it on something non-conductive.

EDIT: do you have the 4-pin power cable connected to the motherboard above the CPU?

CMOS jumper in the closed position?

Well if I remember correctly I had stuck my dual-channel RAM in channel 1 and 2 and it was supposed to be in 1 and 3. Warning: I have no idea as I'm typing this what the correct way is, so don't go by those numbers but I think you get my point.

That's only one example of what it could be. It could obviously be a bad wiring job (missing connections) or simply defective components also. It's more likely it's not defective and either your RAM is incompatible or configured improperly in the channels. I would try just booting with one stick of ram in channel 1.

close your eyes luke....

close your eyes...

listen to the force... Or at least the beeps. You need speaker hooked up. Then lookup the beep codes.

Try one stick of ram in each slot to see if you can POST. The beeps are important, because they will tell you if its memory of Graphics related.

I just got it to go to the vista install screen! I took out both sticks of ram and then put one in channel three and it worked.

I moved stick one to slot3 and it worked...>_<?? So what does that mean...?

I moved from here to here in slot 3...

Thanks a million for the tips!!!

So what was wrong? / how do I know what was wrong?

The motherboard might have a specific order the dimms have to be populated. The manual would say so.

ram I'm running, 533, everyone said it would work...
It's not the RAM. You have the CPU multiplier set at 6, so it's giving you 266*6 = 1.6 GHz. Go into the BIOS and set the multi to 9 like it's supposed to be for the E6600.

And it's supposed to be 2.4, not 2.8. Well, actually, it's supposed to be OC'ed to 3.6
