Hi,
Recently my ACER monitor has been giving me problems (I think it's the monitor). When I boot the system or come out of sleep, the picture is a scrambled mess. I'm usually able to get it to sync correctly by loading up a game. I've tried the DVI connection and the VGA connection. Tried both my 4870s. It happens on BIOS posting so can't be a driver issue.
I called Acer and he told me to remove the connection to the computer and turn the monitor off and then back on. He asked me what I saw on the screen and I told him I've got a "No Signal" box in the middle. He said OK, that proves without a doubt that the monitor is functioning perfectly and something is wrong with my tower. I told him that I was a little shocked that all there is to a monitor is having the ability to display a "No Signal" box when nothing is connected. He laughed and apologized, but assured me that it was working perfectly.
Oddly enough, after plugging it back in again, it booted up perfectly which it hasn't done in a while. I expect it to start happening again though.
If it does, any suggestions?
Thanks,
Tim
