I am sorry that I cant help but I had the same problem before. I had a friend come over to fix it and it took him a little while but he did it. I was afraid that it was something with my video card but it wasnt.
If I could get ahold of him and find out what he did, I will get back to you.
Most monitors will not operate till they get a valid video signal. Have you tried another monitor just to make sure its not a hardware problem like a dead graphics card, motherboard, or CPU.
Thanks you guys - I have another monitor hooked up and working fine - even tried this monitor on two different systems. I also checked for ben pins and everything looks good. Any other suggestions? I hate to let a decent 19" go to waste.
I've got the same monitor. Great unit. I had a similiar problem, and it was fixed after a check to make sure the power cable was seated nice and tight at the right rear of the unit. This unit also came with a 42 month warranty from ADI. Here's the blurb from ADI's FAQ page:
<< Although there are several things that contribute to a screen not having an image, three main reasons exist. First, check the cables to see if they are all tightly connected. Second, the monitor may have a defective component on the board. Third, the VGA card may be defective which means that there is no video signal being received from the card. >>
If you have tried it out on a couple of other systems with no luck, it may be time to send it off for warranty service, Here's the link:
