monitor power save problem...

I have a Diamondtron NF Diamond Plus 200 (22" CRT Flat screen) I picked up about a year ago. It has worked great for several months. Recently the monitor has started going into "power save" mode when the system is booting. This happens right after the WinXP splash screen and ONLY the first time the computer is turned on. Shutting the computer off then restarting works without fail. Again, the monitor only acts up the FIRST time the computer is booted.

I have all OS power save features OFF. I suspect it's the monitor but would appreciate a second opinion.


Any thoughts appreciated.

Does power cycling the monitor, after the system boots allow it to resume from power save?

Maybe the monitor is reading the POST state as powrsave, and it's triggered to go into sleep.

Power cycling the monitor doesn't help once it goes into powersave mode. I'm not sure about the POST state. I assumed since XP started to load it was past the point where the POST would affect anything. I am unsure though.

The first thing I would check is the graphics card (bad drivers?). Also try booting in safe mode or use a different card.
