Monitor Problem

Hey i just got my new system up and running but my monitor is acting weird. Every couple of minutes or so it shuts off and then turns back on like it rebooted itself. It does it more often depending on what im doing. I know it's probably some setting but i cant figure it out. It's hooked up to my comp through my 7800GT. Anyone know what this is? It's really annoying and causes lockups on occasion. Thanks!

Oh ya it's a viewsonic 19" CRT. Currently at 1280 by 1024 (not sure if this is optimal or not). And i've tried every refresh rate listed. 60-85hz.

If it's causing lockups it sounds like it's a problem with your computer and not the monitor.

Do you have another monitor to try?

Actually it's not really causing lockups. Just when it refreshes it does the same thing as when u blue screen. You here it click then your picture comes back up...

Ok i rolled back my driver that was on the boot disk and it hasn't happened since. Hopefully there's no critical updates in the most recent driver.

Maybe it was cause i didn't clear my old vid card drivers from my system before installing the new ones??

Whats the program that clears your old drivers off again? I forgot...
