So my asus 25 inch VE258Q 1080p 60 hz monitor is on its way out, I got a few dead pixels just show up, and I can't get rid of them. I have had the monitor for a little over 3 years now, was hoping it last longer but so be it, I did want to pick up ASUS ROG SWIFT, but I just don't have the money at the moment, since I just picked up a 980 ti. I was planning on buying this monitor in a few months probably around sept or so.
So I was thinking of getting a much cheaper gap stop monitor and eventually can be my secondary monitor when I do get something similar to ROG.
I was thinking of just getting this:
ASUS VG248QE
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236313
or maybe going to 1440p 144hz, if I can find something decent price
The real question is, is it silly to get 144hz without g-sync? I understand it makes a huge difference, though I have zero clue since never seen any of these in action.
if I get a 1080p 144hz, in theory with my 980 ti for now I can hit really high FPS so maybe I won't need gsync as much right now and later on will be cheaper?
