When I boot my PC with win2000, right after the white bootup screen with the win2k logo my pc stops doing anything for about 5 seconds. Now I don't mind that but it makes my monitor think that the PC has shut down so it goes into standby. The delay is a fraction of a second longer than the time before the monitor goes standby so it rapidly switches off and then on again. This screws up my display completely for some reason and I have to turn off my monitor, wait 15 seconds 'till all the current has disappeared from it and then turn it on again. It works fine after doing so but it's terribly annoying to have to turn my monitor on and off every time I reboot.
Can't I shorten the delay in some way ?
