Monitor Upgrade. Need advice

I have a KDS monitor. It is good for gaming but when it comes to watching DVDs it just plain sucks. For example, when I am watching Family Guy on DVD its like they add special Matrix bullet dodging effects. After a while of watching Peter kick the crap out of a chicken I start to feel a little woozy man.

So getting back to the point which monitor is the best for gaming and movie watching. Price limit is $600

you might be able to find either the Samsung 181T or 191T LCD...have owned both and had no problems with ghosting in games or DVD's. Great monitors!

keep your monitor spend the 600 on a TV and DVD player. for 600 bucks you could set something nice (non HD) up and not have to sit at a computer desk. I think you can get 32 inch non HD for like 500, maybe even bigger

17" is too small for DVDs...
for $600 you can get a nice 21" CRT...
i would recommend CRTs over LCDs for DVDs because they have much higher contrast, which is very important for movies

Thanks everyone for there advice. I should of mention it but I'm really more interested in LCD monitors.

milldakill sometimes you just need peace and quiet. To many people running around in my house. Thanks for the advice though.

i 2nd the samsung 191T.....i have a dell 1900fp which is basically the same thing......... and it's awesome

I agree. Look for a deal on a 19" Dell LCD (dell is always running deals). The $600 should cover it during the right sale.
