monitor/video troubles

ok i have my power settings setup so that my computer is always on and the harddrive never shutsdown, but i have the monitor turn off after 15 mins. well for the past few times i come back and move my mouse the orange light on the monitor (veiwsonic M70B) goes green, but the screen is pitch black, tried hitting keys on the keyboard, no success, is there something i am missing???

i am about to reformat my harddrive with all the damn problems i have been having, soundblaster live!, promise ata card, now this!!!

oh and why i am at it is there a way to get all the soundblaster live! drivers off my harddrive without a format (incase they are still screwing stuff up?)

I would deffinatly turn off the sleep feature for your monitor. I have lost 2 monitors (a 15 and a 19) by going to sleep and NEVER waking up.

so then just leave the monitor on all the time??? or turn it off when i walk away from the computer??? i dont have a screensaver setup right now, should i just use one and never use the sleep function of the monitor???

I turn mine off when not in use.......
