Stumbled across this deal on Newegg. Nearly 24" monitor for $190 and comes with a $30 gift card as well. Only 4 reviews but so far seems to be getting decent reviews.

Looks like a pretty good deal to me! The only potential downside is that it doesn't have DVI, only HDMI and VGA. So make sure that your graphics card has an HDMI output or get an HDMI to DVI adapter.

Sorry for being a noob, but what is a MVA monitor. I've hear TN and IPS, never MVA.

What are you using this monitor for again? A TN panel will change colors/contrast if you look at it from a different angle, particularly from above or below. An IPS won't. Apparently, MVA is similar to IPS that way.

Mostly everyday tasks, but I do play games when I have the time. I have a Radeon 7870 graphics card so I'm looking for something that will work well with that. Those two are probably the two most likely for me purchasing, and both around the same price (after $20 Newegg gift card). However, I could get the 24 inch one here tomorrow with Amazon Prime if I hurry.

EDIT: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...36-174^24-236-174-TS,24-236-288^24-236-288-TS

It's between those two. Not sure if I want to pay a little more for IPS and a slower GTG response time, or get the 24 inch on amazon for a little cheaper and have it here a little quick for almost nothing. Thoughts anyone?

Well, went ahead and bought the IPS monitor. Figured I'd be sacrificing a little on the size, but I can't see 0.6" inches being a deal breaker. Also don't think I'll be able to notice 3ms difference in response time.

MVA is Multi-domain Vertical Alignment. They have far better viewing angles than TN Panels and just as fast response time.

Yep. Also, they usually have better black levels and thus contrast than a typical IPS but give up on color accuracy. They're both good technologies IMHO, so you can't go wrong with either one for general use.
