Just got an email blast from Monoprice that contained Pro Audio gear, of all things. And amazingly, but not surprisingly...some really nice prices! Most of them are due to ship early December.

Wow, a knockoff Les Paul and a knockoff Strat.

OTOH, it's Monoprice, so they may be good.

Thanks for everyone's support! Additionally, all Monoprice guitars go through a setup process here in California that is personally supervised & inspected by Master Luthier, Roger Gresco which for those of us who play guitar (like myself) this is a very big deal.

I might have to get a guitar stand for my son and the keyboard stand for my wife.

I have no clue about the guitar, but I would like to get one as a birthday gift for my younger bro. I'm assuming $90 for a starter guitar would be pretty decent?

using "Route 66 Vintage" to name a guitar made in China is a slap in the face!

Hi Gevorg,
The play on the Route 66 Vintage name is because our company is located in Rancho Cucamonga and only blocks away from Route 66 itself. Not intended to offend anyone or take away from the prestige that comes with the name.

Are the guitars similar to the "Davison" brand sold on ebay? I had one similar to the Route 66 model about 7 years ago and liked it. I'd much rather order another from monoprice than from an ebay seller.

Get some in green sunburst!

i used to work at a place called Pro products, we did parts for Concours restoration of Mustangs, thunder birds etc.. that was on 6th street In Rancho. Are they still there?, should be really close to you r building.

Hi, I just joined the forums because there seemed to be a good discussion about the guitars and a Monoprice employee is present.

I am personally very interested in purchasing one of these guitars, and having purchased other Monoprice gear, I know they tend to be great value. There is so far only one customer review on the California Classic sunburst that is very favorable. However, when it comes to guitars, some of it tends to be subjective as far tonal qualities and feel.

Do you think there will be a demonstration video released by Monoprice to let us have a listen. Or perhaps if any of you have purchased the guitar, would you be so kind to post a video on YouTube?

Looks like the Les Paul style guitar has a bolt on neck instead of the standard glued and set neck . The Fender style looks like a good deal as long as it has no sharp fret edges, straight neck, properly cut nut, etc.

Looking forward to seeing some reviews.

All pretty much fixable with some time, tools and a Dan Erwine repair book. While I have been out of the loop awhile, I though all the low end stuff was coming from the same factory in Indonesia and the mid level stuff was done in Korea.

LOL, you hardly find quality in $3000 Gibsons anymore, let alone Epiphone.........

I'll probably pick one of these up for the hell of it, they will be on par with rondo and the other crap out there (imo rondo is very over rated for quality)
