I did 5 packs shipped and it came to $21.58 shipped. Supposedly these are not your normal batts because these are to pump out 2850mAh which is close to some super high dollar rechargeable NiMh. I will see how much longer they last in the kids toys compaired to the cheap ones I been buying fro their toys.

WOW truly made by Monster, and they are even selling them for much higher as well.

Also I checked out Amazon for these same batteries and they are selling them as 4 in a pack @ $3.99 so if you did the same 40 as I did it would come out to almost double as to what I paid. Link to Amazon selling same batts in lower quantity but for 2x the price.

Seems like a super hot deal to me so Im posting it since we all need aa batteries for the Christmas toys.

Thanks funboy. Ordered 5 packs myself. This is the cheapest monster product that I've ever seen.

For what its worth.....CSR did a review of alkaline batts.

For $.20 each, the Costco brand (Kirkland Signature) AA's are best choice for low draw devices like CD/MP3 players or remotes. Actually, $$cost per 50 digital photos, or per hour of CD play, the Costco batts were cheapest.

Of course, I'm sure the capacity of these guys aren't the best, but consider the actual cost of use.....Costco batts were the least.

If cost isn't a concern, just get Energizer e2 Li-Ion batt...something like $2.35 each, but they last a real long time....

pretty sure thats what he was aluding to, the fact that they are not rechargeable, so NIMH (rechargable) FTW makes sense.

I'm in for 10. Works out to about .38 apiece. I usually shoot for .25 to .30 apiece, but hopefully these will last a little longer. Thanks OP.

I'm just going to say that 2800mah is only a little above average for Alkaline cells.

NiMh cells almost always have less capacity. However, they have a much lower internal resistance, so they're much more efficient with a high current load...like a camera, for example.

Of course, latest-gen NiMh stuff is closing the gap rapidly, and lithium-ion-polymer cells are superior to all the competition - higher capacity, high discharge rates, and low weight.

The problem seems to be that they have a nasty tendency to explode.

Why you buy more then just the 8
Shipping comes out cheaper when you buy more then one pack for then shipping becomes more reasonable, IMO of course, and why I was buying 5 packs and not jsut the one pack of 8.

No offense to the OP, but as a moral decision, I refuse to buy any product that is branded by Mon$ter Cable.

This company's fame and wealth is based upon lying deceptive ads and greedy retailers who jointly participate in consumer rape. I don't know anything about their batteries but I would be surprised if these are any different from their other over-hyped products. These are probably just plain batteries (made in China, I bet). But I wouldn't be surprised if they developed some marketing theme that talks about better performance due to the "pure polarity phased matched materials" or some other phony crap that they dream up and foist up the gullible masses.

This is a company that truly laughs its ass off all the way to the bank. Their corporate motto must be: "There's a $ucker born every minute."

I have a few Li-Po batteries that I use in my Radio Control trucks. You have to be EXTREMELY careful in charging them, as they will, and have, exploded. They even make small charging cans for them, kinda like what a bomb squad hauls around with them

However, with all my rechargeables, I'm still in for 5 packs. 40 batteries shipped for $19.71 ain't too bad....

i don't think its a bad deal for one-use throw-away batteries ... the price is certainly good
... for little cannisters of toxic waste that pollute our planet for endless years to come.

what i was commenting on was that the OP was comparing to NiMH [capacity, i guess] and i just wanted to clarify:
Supposedly these are not your normal batts because these are to pump out 2850mAh which is close to some super high dollar rechargeable NiMh.

People still buy alkalines in the year 2007? Nicad's have been around since the early 90's and NIMH since late 90's. One question why????? I guess if you have a disposable income to blow on throw away batteries then buy all you want. Now with Sanyo's new low discharge rate batteries and their off-shoot Eneloop batteries, alkaline batteries are truly becoming obsolete.

Regular alkaline batteries are great for things like flashlights and kids toys. With toys in particular, the odds of your child losing it can be pretty high. So putting rechargeable batteries in a kids toy can be a good way to never see them again. And that can get pretty expensive.

Anyways, nice find OP. I usually only buy from batteries .com, but this price is the best I've ever seen. Thanks!!

I got sick of my family throwing away my rechargeable batteries. They never fvcking take the time to read the dead batteries and I swear I must be missing over 80 rechargeables. After watching my son take out the dead NimH batteries and pitch them saying they were dead and me fishing them from the trash I banded my wife and kids from touching them ever again, so I buy them these and its up to them now to replace dead batteries, for both my wife and my oldest have admitted to not reading the batteries, but have been throwing all dead batteries away. Pissing me off to no end, because at what point am I saving money if they are too lazy to take the time to read if they are my Nimh ones or not? They were NimH because I bought over 100 AA batts to stop us from buying Alkalines, and now I have less then 20 I can find. so all my toys and remotes get the left over Nimh and they are on their own for theirs.

I find these batteries just plain funny. When I first found them 2850mAh is exactly what all the big battery companies who post specs on their site rated their AA batteries (Alkaline of course). Also I'm fairly sure these are just rebranded Rayovac's. Like most Monster products, they are nothing special.

FWIW... 95% of alkaline batterries are the same. They just put a new label on, or better yet, have the chinese manufacturer do it for them. (I used to do quality control in a ISO/UL-certified ignitor factory, and we used to get boxes of thousands of identical batteries from our chinese supplier that had any sort of label on them, from namebrand to generic).

Just because the product is listed on Monstercable's site doesn't actually mean they manufacture them (same with almost any product). All they manufacture is cables, and of those, only the highest end of their product lines are actually made by Monstercable.

Hahhahhaha that's hilarious. You have a n00b family. My condolences.
