More Cheap Watch Madness

I have one of the Swatch clones for $5 coming from the other site, so I'll be a member of the cheapchinesewatchclub (somewhat) shortly.

Received my Shshd today.

Clearly made for small chinese men's wrists. I can barely get it to the second notch. The two buttons don't actually do anything, the smaller hands do not move of course. The face is rotated off by about 3 degrees so "12" isn't facing straight up.

Don't really care. I just bought it to see if I can stand wearing a watch again before moving up to the Skagen that I want.

I got mine as well. I noticed the loud tick too and am too wondering how long it will last. It's a disposable watch so if I can get even 6 months out of it, I will be happy. I was surprised to see Tissot written on the watch. I thought it would say "shshd."

I got mine as well. I noticed the loud tick too and am too wondering how long it will last. It's a disposable watch so if I can get even 6 months out of it, I will be happy. I was surprised to see Tissot written on the watch. I thought it would say "shshd."

Wow. I might just take the leap if it says Tissot. Shshd just doesn't as easily flow off of the tongue. Still loving my Swatch watch clone.

If it's too good to be true, then it's probably made for slave labor wages in China. lol

I covered all this much earlier, starting at the receipt of mine in post #57. The second hand works, but, yes, with a loud, mechanical tick that doesn't bode well for the watch's longevity.

What doesn't work at all are the chrono dials and the two auxiliary buttons that would control them if that whole shebang weren't there strictly for show.

Nearly three months in, and mine keeps on ticking but has twice in the last two weeks mysteriously lost a largish (10 - 20 minutes) of time for no overly apparent reason. Each time I've reset it and it's been fine. <shrug>

As I originally reported, the build quality on these isn't that stellar, although mine still looks bitchin'.

My wife loves watches. She is to practical to wear her expensive ones every day.

Amazon has the Invicta watches marked down again today. I think they do it 2 days every month.

Based on the reviews they are actually quite nice for 60 dollar watches. At 450 they really arent so hot.

I have not received mine yet. How long did you guys have to wait for your watches? I ordered mine on Jan 1st, and they still have not come yet. I might go to Paypal and dispute it.

Do it. Their volume means their shipping and billing practices are sloppy. They'll never respond to a customer complaint to them, but they'll also never bother challenging paypal, and you'll win, hands down.

Then, if you win and actually receive the watches, it'll be your turn to discover how honest you are.

This is what happened to me once. I let the bastiges off the hook, even though I was pissed at their non-responses.

Anyone who is really upset by Chinese slave labor should make sure there are no Foxconn parts in any electronic device they own.

I went to Paypal. The manufacturer responded very quickly to my surprise. They say wait for 1 more week for the package as it was shipped on 2nd of January and it usually takes 20 days to ship. Well, can't wait.

At the $15 sale price, I consider that quite a bargain. Definitely a whole other level of quality from the Shshd. Although, I have to say, I remain incredibly impressed with the basic quality of my $3.50 shipped Swatch clone from the other thread.

It's the sub $5, shipped to my door, novelty price point of these on-line watches that has intrigued me. I just had to find out what you could really get for such a hard to believe net sum.
