1. Flat tax, end IRS with all its corporate loopholes.
2. Secure the boarder. Then look at immigration reform.
3. Protect the 2nd Amendment.
4. Abide by the rule of law. Go to Congress to have laws changed rather then ignore them.

Yes the vast majority of the forum supports a flat tax that would shift the tax burden even further down the food chain. The wealth inequality gap isn't widening fast enough! Trickle down! Trickle down!Those are all things that a vast majority on this forum could get behind.

how about we stop making a thread for every stupid thing rafael "ted" cruz says and focus only on topics in which he says something that's not stupid? It'd be nice to never again see his name mentioned in p&n.

I actually want a purely consumption based tax that can not be avoided, like a VAT. But it would have to include getting rid of all the other taxes. Then the rich, and corporations, will naturally pay more as they have more money to spend. Currently the IRS lets the wealthy get paid in such a way that the majority of their income falls under capital gains and that is much lower right now than the rate on the same amount as direct income. If you leave things as they are and just raise capital gains than everyone who invests for retirement (not just the rich do this) will be harmed.
