No way, can't be true because the AT experts say it's not happening.
Who are the "AT Experts" ?

Right and the island wasn't naturally sinking due to thousands of years of sub-surface erosion and shifting plates. It has to be the cow farts that did it. Makes sense.
The island didn't disappear... it was "moved".
Have to admire some of the kookier right wingnuts around here. Even the most conservative scientists don't deny that the planet is warming, the controversy is by how much and by what mechanism. It's impressive that you guys can maintain denial of what's now a basic, established scientific fact. Up is down.

Nothing, I was commenting on the comments made by other users likeThats great, but what does that have to do with a 4 inch above sea level chunk of land?
Shens. Global warming is a lie.
What high world temps? We've been through this already in that the data produced by the "scientists" was cherry picked and weather station temperature readings from colder climates were omitted from the formulas to produce "global averages".
Wait a sec did I read the article right? The island was several mm high and the got submerged? What kinda of island is that?!
I agree. In this case however, the Republicans are stupefyingly wrong and getting more wrong daily. The refusal to consider that the current climate change is caused by human activity is beyond comprehension. While I consider myself Republican, I dislike polarization of the parties and "the other side is always wrong" mentality.
Ive no doubt that man made pollution is not helping what may or may not be a natural process. In other words, we should do our best to control our waste streams and use renewable resources over fossil fuels if given a choice.
Just tell me who to send a check to so this can be reversed. I'm convinced we can control the climate.I agree. Just tell the displaced people of the island that the sea level has been rising since the end of the last ice age...
In Schwarzenegger from Running Man voice: "New Moore Island? Now just NO Moore Island!"
We sure the island just didn't leave on its own?
That was mother nature saying, "Fuck it bitches. You can't decide who gets it? I'm talking it back."

Higher world temps = polar ice caps melting at alarming rate = rising sea levels = no more islands. :'(
Yes, you are correct.
Your chances of being stabbed to death are greater in Oakland.
Your chances of tripping on a homeless person doing heroin are greater in San Fran.
Your chances of being bored to death are greater in San Jose.
Bay Area really is > OC!
:awe:
San Jose is certainly boring. I never go. but SF + Berk + Oak are better than your suburban shithole. (dodging bullets and sharp edges is exciting).
Also, Muir *, Half Moon Bay, Pt Reyes, various Redwoods > concrete.
Also, Napa + Sonoma > ....nothing? Santa Barbara? yeah, whatever... have fun with your mudslides and fires.
global warming isnt the cause for the sea rising... its all the waterdisplacement from increased shipping and sunken ships.
