Totally agree, a super duper frugal dual core llano, may have been a better call, but a brave one.
I look at these graphs, & there is usually an expensive, thirsty, gorilla or two, but mostly down in the sweet spot, there is little in it against amd re CPUs.
When u get to graphics, there is a lot in it against intel.
I dont think amd gives a damn about the sad market america & eeu. The action is in s/e asia & stealing market share from intel. Llanos is perfect for both.
They dont want something that sounds like an aircon, distracts junior from homework even more & is impossible to protect from outages & costs a lot more.
Unfortunately, they need educating. Those who can most benefit, are afraid of not going intel.
I think I get SB but not sure. They are targeting power users who want IGP (& will pay the premium over normal cpuS), no wait, totally crap igp, and overpriced to boot - huh?
If there is any sanity, I see amd owning the consumer market from netbooks to igp desktops & then some. Right there is 90% of the market in a 40% gross margin business.
I see no solution for intel. Amd can make them dance to their tune if they market right.
I cannot see intel w/ a competitive igp for years, and amd can just up the ante in a snap w/ an existing better gpu they can cut and paste into their revised llano dieshot.
