Sorry nonameo But I didn't see any benchmarks performed by AT in that Link . I do remember the Bobcat type preview AT did a preview review . We all know how that turned out The AMD guys were saying even Bobcat APU beats SB . LOL not even close.

I couldn't find anything from AT. Next stop: tech report. Here you go.

edit: also, you seem to be implying that bobcat fits in here somewhere... did I say something about bobcat?

Im wondering why did AMD go with stars cores instead of bd cores for llano?

Good question. Maybe yields, cost, not wanting to put all their eggs in one basket, their typical conservative approach, completely different engineering teams/departments?

I think since maximum performance wasn't a priority they decided to stick with the tried and tested CPU design. Not too much new and developing tech in one project. Once BD is cranking along safely then they have an obvious upgrade path.

BD is not even out yet and they are on their 3rd spin for BD to try and get it right from what I have read.

If Llano was waiting for BD it be next year before it came out. This will open doors to oems and then use the next gen Llano to add to that.

Is anyone else thinking Llano will get a huge sales bump due to World of Warcraft players alone? IIRC, Blizzard added a token amount of DirectX11 effects to the game in order to claim they're keeping up with the times... Cheap laptops which run WoW at maximum settings are probably in high demand.

No you didn't I was simply referring to the pre-release hype . THe real world the hype was = to false. NO We need to see at least notebook res. 800x600 doesn't cut it . It would be great in a cpu test tho .

It's funny to watch the damage control spring into action to try to convince people that Llano won't succeed. Same thing happened with the Bobcat threads, lol.

I'm not convinced it's a big deal on desktops where you can just get a low end SB + a video card and still have a cheap system. I'm sure OEM's will like it though because it'll let them tick off quad core and dx11 for cheap.

In laptops though this thing is going to be pure win. SB is almost certainly going to be a better choice for business users. But for home users, students, etc, anyone who is going to do some gaming (even light gaming, or WoW, etc), Llano is going to be perfect. Good enough CPU performance and fine GPU performance for anything under HD rez. Interesting that memory bandwidth ended up not being an issue at all. Finally AMD has competent laptop stuff (Llano and Bobcat). Only like 6 years late to the party...better late than never, though. This will force Intel to do better with graphics, too, which is good for all PC gamers...and hopefully to write better drivers (SB has huge image quality problems and extreme stuttering and frame rate variations that the reviews never seem to mention).

yup, just look at zacate, its selling like hotcake, and completely destroy atom performance and market,

huh? we must be reading different threads, I don't see much of this happening in this thread. Unless you were more just commenting about a specifically vocal and active member here in CPU...:hmm:

I wonder if we are going to see DDR3-1866 SO-DIMM modules then soon? I heard that LLano supports DDR3-1866 for maximum performance of the IGP.

There's really only one person who jumps in every AMD thread and tries to discredit their products before they are released...

I think I finally understand him now. If its an AMD weakness, it is shameful and the sky is falling. If its an Intel weakness then the feature/performance its not important or 'they will make up for it with "your favorite codename here"' or it doesn't matter to Intel because the segment won't make them alot of money. Intel is the be all end all.

It gets very old.....

Anyways, so it for sure looks like tomorrow will have the official reviews I guess?

I really wouldn't be surprised if having double the L2 cache will outperform the PhII's small L2 cache and slow large L3 cache clock for clock in a couple area's. :\

I imagine there'll be plenty of information that goes up at midnight. Hopefully Anand has put together a nice article. I've always enjoyed reading his pieces whenever a new architecture, etc. comes out.
