Heh, here we go again, time to wade through the FUD.

Didn't realize the RV400 was announced. Not to mention the NV30 won't be competing against the R400 (I'm guessing thats what you meant), it'll be competing with the NV35; both parts are on schedule for a Q3 '03 release.
And I think it's pretty obvious your feathers are a bit ruffled right now... You'd think you were in charge of nVidia PR or something.
Any poo-poohing the NV30 from anyone seems to automatically make them an ATI fanboy in your books.
Ruffled? I find this amusing ATi cheerleaders don't want their precious investments to become obsolete, and I can respect that. What is amusing is that they'll say just about anything to make the competition look bad. I mean hell, what are you guys gonna muse about now that your main focus of ridicule is no longer relevant? Questioning Gainward's credibility and doubting they could possibly come up with a quiet cooling solution, that makes sense. Sorry, but I trust Gainward more than the jokers here. There hasn't been a single GF FX thread here worth reading b/c they've all been started by ATi fanbois intent on bashing it. Oh, that takes us to the next piece of FUD.
Admit it - they're both darn fine cards. Both with good drivers. Both with good software support.
I'd like to say both with good prices.
Unlike some here, I'm not going to comment on how good the NV30 is until its ACTUALLY released. I'm also not going to speculate on its street price because its pointless. Last time I checked, the Radeon 9700pro still carries an MSRP of $399US. For a refresher on the acronym, it stands for Manufacturers
Suggested Retail Price. Guess what? That's the same MSRP of the GF FX. No one here is going to pay retail for either card (hell, half the fanboys in this thread wouldn't pay 1/2 of retail), so why is it even a point of discussion??? Anyone on these forums seriously considering buying either card is going to purchase it online at substantially discounted prices. Until e-tailers actually start listing prices, speculating just makes you look silly.
ZimZum if you bothered to check the MSRP of the non-Gainward cards in Euros and VAT, they are the same. Pricing is not global. Its called economies of scale. Americans consume more, therefore we get cheaper prices. If you want to complain about it to someone, go call the World Bank or IMF or maybe Alan Greenspan can explain it to you.
As for drivers, I simply don't share your opinion. The quality and frequency of ATI drivers and their total nonsupport for products other than their own just doesn't meet my expectations. I guess I've just been spoiled by Detonators...
