It makes sense to take advantage of their lack of brains.

Right. Intentionally defrauding voters in the hope of invalidating their votes makes all the sense in the world... if you happen to favor totalitarian dictatorships. Do you?

Then these smart Democrats should stop crying about typical mail solicitations from the big bad Bush boogeyman.

In case you didn't get the memo, "big" and "bad" are appropriate adjectives for your Traitor In Chief and his criminal cabal of traitors, murderers, torturers, war criminals and war profiteers, but they are not fictitious "bogeymen."

If there is any justice, they will spend the rest of their degenerate lives in cells at Guantanamo with free daily passes on the exciting waterboard ride. It's not torture. They said so, themselves, and we can believe them... Right?

Republicans have lower IQ's than Dems. FYI.

Except they're not typical kiddo.

Shrug, I've received several similar requests for funding in my own mail.

Either way so called high IQ people should be able to figure it out.

Not sure what you're shrugging over when the actual solicitation includes claims of voter registration being changed. Read the article.

These people are why phishing scams still work. Good lord! No idea with what the Republican party was hoping to accomplish with this anyway. Get people confused so they make sure they're registered correctly?

It's a low-down, dirty Republican trick.

..... Two top Florida elections officials, both Republicans, faulted the GOP mailing, calling it "confusing" and "unfortunate" because of a potential to undermine voter confidence by making them question the accuracy of their registrations.

"It is unfortunate, because it does put a lot of doubt in people's minds," said Secretary of State Kurt Browning, the state's top elections official.....

The first-class GOP mailing has a "Do not forward" instruction on the envelope, meaning they will be returned to the GOP if a recipient has had mail forwarded, perhaps to a summer address, or has moved.

Letters returned as undeliverable can be compiled into "challenge lists" of unverifiable addresses and can be used to challenge voters' eligibility during early voting or on Election Day. The vote suppression technique is known as "vote caging."

"That postcard is a little disconcerting," said letter-recipient Steve Hemping of Naples, chairman of the Collier County Democratic Party and a state party official. "You don't know if they're going to use it to challenge somebody's right to vote." .....

Allegations of Republican vote caging in predominantly black Jacksonville precincts in the 2004 presidential election surfaced last year in testimony before the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee.

Democrats, Florida elections officials criticize GOP mailing

Florida has a Voter ID law that if your vote is challenged on election day it will not be counted if you do not within two days provide your driver?s license or Social Security card to the local elections supervisor.

Welcome To Republican Voter Supression.

Disgusting but considering it's the GOP not surprising anymore.

Huh?! I'm no republican.. But what? You seriously don't have to show your state issued ID (with current address, verified against a precinct list) and SS card *before* you vote there? Really?

How can this be a bad thing? Up here in MN when I last voted (granted, 2000 elections) you had to present either of these documents *before* they even let you in the booth. Makes perfect sense to me! Why would you let someone in without proof of address and who they are?

So if they are "challenging" based on that, sounds like every single voter up here just passed that challenge automatically.

They don't like it because it screws up their chance to vote multiple times.
