More units being called up.

Well I just don't know what to say. 3 more friends of mine in the armed forces are being called up. One is in a sniper unit and is going to germany. Not sure about the others.
This sucks.

A friend of mine leaves for Ft. Atterbury (sp.) today. He will be there for six days and is shipped off.

Atterbury is near my hometown. It's a National Guard base, but it's about to go active duty according to my 'rents.

The friend who is going to germany is from michigan. Not sure what guard base he is from. Grand Rapids/Muskegon area.

My friends dad was just put on high alert and told to be ready to ship out anytime. He's in the Iowa National Guard and the guard building was where we were going to have a lan party. Doesn't look like its happening now because of all this, sometime I hope.

There is no such thing as a "sniper unit." Sniper is an additional skill identifier, not a military occupational specialty.

Well, a portion of my unit was activated weeks after 9/11 and I just recently got off active duty on 05JAN03. On 15JAN03, I was ordered to report again and ended up being mobilized for another year. All told, when this is over, I will have been away from my civilian job for over two and a half years. I really, really f*cking hate terrorists!!! :|

And you are a reservest? Sounds like full active duty would have been better. 20/20 hindsight.
